Absolutly heart breaking....!!! My new neighbors had 2 pitts chained out like this....each in a corner as they were rescued fighters. They would bark all night.. yes, they were fed and watered but never inside or loved. One night the barking at 1 P.M. didn't sound right to me, so I put on my robe and went with flashlight to check. The one next to my yard had climbed the fence to the rear and was between their and other fence.. luckily the chain was long enough so he wasn't choaking....now Grammy at then 71 yrs wasn't going to climb fence and lift a 50 # pitt she didn't over the fence....so she trots barefooted, in robe and rings the door bell. and tells the owner his dog's in trouble. He thanked me and I watched until the dog was safe. Two weeks later the dogs are gone. I've never asked....I only hope they are happier...wherever they are.
