There is a chihuahua forum that I'm a member of... I don't frequently visit, but I stop in every so often to give advice, etc (since most of the members know nothing about dogs ). I don't even know how to reply to this post, though... a member posted up pictures of their chi/dachsund litter (keep in mind both parents are awful reps of their breeds as well, of course)... I asked if it was an accidental litter, and here is how they responded:

Actually yes this litter freaked us out. Our babygirl came into heat and we used diapers to stop our mini doxi from locking with her. Hes 9 pounds and shes 4 pounds. So we did our best to NOT let it happen. Well Scooby locked. Horrified we took her to the vet and he said she should be fine so we had an emergency c-sec at 61-63 days and oh man. The doc said it was awesome, that she is so healthy that she didnt need the c section. She had 6!!! So he suggested we bottle feed them along with moms nursing. Then after we figured a mixed breed wont be able to sell we decided to research good homes. After researching, we freaked to find out the chiweenie blues were appraised at up to 2grand! Our entire litters sell and they give us 500 a peice for the blues and 350 each for the black and black and reds. In two litters, she has produced FIVE blues. Matter of fact here is a second blue in the second litter of chiweenies. You can tell it is Bubbles little brother but you can also see the difference. Their eyes stayed blue! Not rare but very unusual.

Wow. They are, like, proud of this breeding. Like blue is an unusual color... and I love the word "appraised." Now dogs are like pieces of antique jewelry or paintings. Sigh. I need to stop leaving chazhound... the outside 'internet world' is quite depressing.

Honestly, I wouldn't know how to respond to that either. Other than to give some facts about how many Chi mixes and Doxie mixes are in shelters already. Not that it would do any good, people like that obviously don't care about shelter dogs or the dog overpopulation problem. Only people who actually care about animals think of that (hehehe..I'd probably mention that too, but just to be a bitch).
