Oh. My. God! No one is going to believe me!
Well, for those that don't remember Bear, Davids lab/boston mix girl, was staying at his brothers house in Eastern, Wa because she grew too big (they thought she was a yorkie/boston mix) until he could bring her back up here. Well she was let off her collar when they put her in the back yard, they found her collar in the yard WITHOUT her tags! We saw her on petfinder.com in a shelter and she had been hit by a car. We drove overnight non-stop down there and back and got her to a vet that morning. Well, david took her to the vet I had to go to work with no sleep, but it was worth it.
No one really thought about it then, but about an 40 mins ago david got a message saying they found his dog Bear a pit bull running around a casino parking lot in the tri cities (where his brother lives).
David called them back and apparently a pittie is running around with Bears tags! So whoever let bear out stole her tags to put on their dog She got hit by a car and went through a lot because of them!! >_<
But David got three calls in the last 40 mins from people saying Bear was there. They all said the pittie is very friendly and David asked two of them to try to get the tags off of it. The third caller said he was going to keep the dog, but didn't believe David when he said it wasn't really Bear, even though he explained the situation. He seemed to think that dog was Bear and we dumped it, which is funny since I'm staring at Bear right now and that dog is 5 hours away from here
Either way, these people aren't getting their dog back, though we would like to know who it was there's no way to find out without putting the otherwise friendly dog to sleep (HS will put it to sleep).
I just can't believe someone would do that! The area they are in has laws regarding "dangerous dogs." you have to pay for insurance on them so I think the owners stole the tags because bear is listed as a lab mix, and she looks kinda pit'ish mix maybe so they thought they could have her tags and not pay the insurance!
This is the original thread, it's been almost 5 months and her hip is still causing her problems. It is very likely to never fully heal and she will never be able to run and jump like she normally would. When she tries she hurts herself.

And her after she was hit (a few weeks after I believe). Her belly was red/swollen from being drug under the car and sliding on pavement, her pelvis was badly misalligned and fractured, and she had large gashes on her legs.
