Today a group of "Christian race realists" protesting at the park told me..
- I should go back to Mexico (for the record, I'm not from Mexico)
- And that "We" Muslims caused 9/11.... (not a muslim, and Muslims didn't cause 9/11)
then they yelled bible verses as I waited for my train and instead of doing anything I started crying until the transit police came to get them.

what a great way to start the day
Maybe we ran I to the same people? I have been called a "biggot" and a tractor to my "race" for being in a relationship with a foreigner because I am presumably white (though not really, my mother is half Native American) since me and OH got together in 2006, I have heard it all :/, I just shrug it off

Dang it.

I was having a good day. Then found out my mother in law's dog passed away this morning from blastomycosis. :( This dog was her Abrams. He came along when she needed it and offered her a sense of companionship, purpose, and saftey. And now he's gone.

I'm sad that Ozzy is gone, but even more upset for the grief my mother in law is going through now.

Life sucks.

DAMMIT.

Cid's cataracts have turned into glaucoma. One of his eyes is red and swollen.

I never thought I'd care this much about a stupid hamster. I'm crying right now.

It doesn't seem like its bothering him. He's running around like a spazz, took a spin in his wheel, is stuffing his cheeks full of food like normal...but it can't be good.

My little Cidiferus. :(

Does anyone know how glaucoma progresses in hamsters? I did some google searching and it seems common in these little dwarf guys, and it seemed like most places said, "Oh, just let the eye burst and then shrivel up. It'll be fine." Um, what? I'm assuming that would be excruciatingly painful.

As long as he's running around doing his hamster business should I just let him be? Signs I should watch out for that he's in pain? I don't want him to suffer. :(

Dear neighbors, I know that we got six inches of snow today and most of you don't have to go to work tomorrow. However, I still do. If I could figure out which one of you is shooting of fireworks, and if I wasn't kind of afraid of your entire block over there, I would kick you in the jimmies.

Ugh, such a crappy day. As evident by my frustrated posts in this thread last night re: my essay progress, I was up until 4:30 am finishing up a major research paper. I had it all outlined for months, but when it came to actually writing, I just couldn't really articulate it. It was weird. Anyway, my shift started at 7:15, so my alarm went off at six. I worked six hours (on 1.5 hours of sleep), got injured twice at work (got my thumb caught in the mop somehow and skinned it, and then sliced open my leg on the metal door). Fantastic. And the dogs were so loud today. And a Weim punched me in the ovaries.

And then after work I had to make a mad dash downtown to hand in my essay. Subway delay. Barely made it in time. Much anxiety.

And now I have a midterm on Friday that I need to cram for. I'll be so happy to graduate.

My legs are sore from boarding today. My tub will not stay hot or quit draining at an obnoxious rate to let me soak out the aches.

I was under the impression it was going to be 30ish degrees today. I was excited to play outside.

No. It is 15 degrees with a wind chill of 3. We are not going outside. URRRGGGHHH.

GAH. I spent as wisely as I could this month, didn't have a whole lot of food for the dogs, but now they almost have no food because both dogs and the cats got into the food and gorged themselves on what should have lasted them a week.
My neighbor feeds Pedigree. . .but I might get desperate enough to ask her if I can borrow some dog food from her. :/

I am SO irritated with my family. I think I posted a few days ago that my parents, sisters and one of my sisters' fiance all went to Hawaii and Josh and I didn't get an invite? It's not that we would have been able to go since we are saving to move, but an invite at least would have been nice.

Anyways... one of my sisters said that maybe I would get more formal invites if I didn't always use my dogs as an excuse not to go. Excuse me??? She doesn't have a dog and she sure as HELL isn't paying my boarding fees if I have to board them which are expensive especially when you have three dogs that you would have to pay to board. Not everyone has that kind of money and I don't make as much money as she does.

She tried to tell me that I always put my dogs before family and that I will board them if it's something I want to go do but not for family vacations. I left them with Josh to go to the Delaware vacation. I only went for two of the days because I couldn't get the time off work and I had to leave my husband at home which I didn't think was fair because we couldn't afford to board them that summer so someone had to stay to watch them. I left him at home with them because my family harassed me about me needing to go. I did board them when we had the family NJ trip this past summer and I'm still paying off that bill. When I go places that I want to go I take dogs with me since I usually go to dog sporting events and stuff. I really don't like to vacation without my dogs. They are my responsibility and they are my family... plus I flat out can NOT afford to board them anytime I want to go somewhere. She doesn't have a dog so she doesn't understand and when she DID have dogs they were dogs that just stayed in the backyard all the time.

She also told me that the only reason I came up to the family Delaware trip a few years back was to transport puppies back with me. That is NOT why I went. I went up there and when one of my friends found out I was already up there she asked me if I could transport the puppies back with me that she was pulling from a shelter up there. It saved her a trip and was only 20 minutes away from where I was for the family trip anyways so I told her I didn't mind picking them up and bringing them back with me. It's not like I left the family trip early to get them. My sister left BEFORE me in fact and I drove my own **** car so why is it a big deal that I ended up transporting puppies back with me for a friend? My family is ALWAYS like this about me and my dog stuff.

I can't tell you how many times I have wanted to bring Cricket to one of my sister's college softball games. I'm always told no. Now my parents are getting a puppy and my dad keeps talking about how they are going to bring the puppy to my sisters college games.. wtf? So it's ok that they do but not me? I don't ****ing get it.

My family is really going to disown me when they find out that Josh and I are pursuing getting a service dog for me in the next year or so.
