I didn't get the job. I'm trying not to be too bummed about it, since the director is leaving and for all I know the whole zoo could go to crap within a year...but I'm still bummed. Why can't I be like a real adult and just get a freaking full time job? I think from here on out, I'm just going to assume that I won't get any job I apply for, so maybe I can be happy when some day in 10 years I DO get a job as a Walmart greeter or something. Ugh.Seriously, though, none of the entry level jobs will hire me because I'm "overqualified" and everything else requires "x years of full time paid experience" which I DON'T HAVE. :wall: And nobody out of state is interested because they don't want to risk either having it fall through, or paying for relocation, or only doing phone interviews.

I just want to move out so I can get back to having my dogs behave the way I want them to behave. My mom totally undoes all their training. Both dogs try to steal food at home now, which is something that NEVER was allowed when I was on my own...but I can't control what happens when I'm at work. Hell, today I came home to find that yet again my mom unplugged EVERYTHING in my room (including a timer...which, if you weren't aware, doesn't time when it's unplugged). She also unplugged the cord from my blanket (it was already unplugged from the wall) and for whatever strange reason decided to flip the blanket around. WTF?
I'm sorry you didn't get the job :( I can also relate to parents undoing training. My parents are actually pretty good about trying to do it my way with my dog (I really don't consider buddy "mine" anymore because he has clearly chosen my parents over OH and me ... Which is cool, he really really loves my mom and he will be a great companion for their other dog when Bear passes away.

The biggest thing they do is repeat commands endlessly ("sit, sit, siiiiiiit ..." Etc ...) and I can tell when I go home that their training has been effected :/.

On going into your room ... I know it's their house so there is not much you can do or say against their wishes, but what about putting a lock on your door so she can't go in there? Maybe locking the dog(s) in there while you are at work?

My vent for today? There is a ****ing mouse in our room I saw it earlier this evening and now I am all paranoid. I am not afraid of them ... I really really hate those little bastards ... We don't even have any food down where they can reach it! I read on a few sites that bounce dryer sheets will make them go away, we have a huge box so it's worth a try ... Oh well ... If it doesn't at least our room will smell really nice :/.

Is it like global microwave explosion day? Because mine nearly did the same damned thing this morning. I already wasn't pleased with getting up at 4am for work, but to wake up to something like that? Ugh.
I think it is!

My parents, thought this too, but that was quickly ruled out. In middle school someone asked if I was autistic, which off
I can see how people would think I am, I mean I see a lot of myself (the way I act and think) in the "stereotype" of how high functioning autistic people are, I guess, but I just straight up refused to be diagnosed. I didn't want more medication, or a reason to need help.

I actually started meds for ADD and depression (since the meds cause depression) when I was in 5th grade, and by freshmen year in hs was finally able to talk my parents out of forcing me to take them. I was on a lot of different stuff over the years and always felt like a shade.

Sometimes my depression really gets to me, and I think I may benefit from medication somewhat, but I never want to take the chance that I would feel like a shade again. Roxie and WCAR is what's helping me at the moment, so I will fight it the best I can.

I am so sorry that you didn't get the job. Hang in there- it took a few years for me to find my current job and that sucked, but there's always something that you can do. Something will come around soon. Just don't ever give up :)

I can relate to the parent thing, too... My mom does weird things, and both my parents and my two sisters do stupid things and let my dog get away with crap all the time

Also, *HUGS* to anyone who may need them. Even if you do not think you need one, you may take one or a few.

Me: "Mum, I'm going to counselling and need you to help me submit my claims to insurance"

Mum: "Are you talking about me???"

Me: "None of your concern.."

Mum: "ARE YOU PREGNANT?!"

... Logical progression, no?

Just so... off lately?

I've been listening to a lot of hard rock and Pink, which is what I defaulted to whenever I was having issues with my dad. Been having kind of a hard time with my self-esteem and confidence lately. I'm really trying hard to eat better and work out and every time I try I just feel really tired and just sit on the computer. Haven't been keeping up with homework as well and this is no time to be slacking. Leaning hard on Josh for a pick me up and he's just not with the game right now. I know it's not right and I know why he's "pulling away"... but zombie Josh sucks and I miss normal Josh.

I was on such a roll tonight, was feeling better and then I just got back in this slump. Not sure where this post is headed.. I'm just feeling unwanted and just generally bummed out and tired and unmotivated.

So, thanks for listening/reading I guess? I'm kind of at a point where I feel super strong about where my education is going and a potential career, but am really lacking in my marriage and relationships and don't really feel like I have anybody I can spill my guts to. Not sure why I feel a public forum is that place.

Lol which, Shannon? They allll are bad, unfortunately.
PDPM. I was asked to leave because I have someone blocked, and that someone happens to be a moderator. And guess what? I can't have known that person is a moderator, because I have them blocked!

So much for blocking people to avoid conflict...

Has anyone had any luck or know if those plug in sonic device thingy's work I would rather not resort to poison and buying some steel wool to put in the holes, ... we are getting some glue traps also.

I can hear the "ultrasonic" ones and they're REALLY annoying, so I don't use them.

I also don't like glue traps. We found one at work with 2 lizards stuck to it (they were de-stucked and released, but still). Honestly, poison is more humane. If you secure it properly it shouldn't pose a risk to any domestic animals.

I'm actually dealing with mice in my car right now. They moved into our garage around the beginning of winter and somehow ended up in my car. Not a problem I thought I'd ever have, but I guess it's not all that uncommon.

Sorry for the double post... new vent.

If you see a picture of Obama holding up a tshirt that says "I <3 Other People's Money", posted by a group called Conspiracy Watch no less, and your immediate reaction is NOT "photoshop" but the REPOST IT with the caption "How did this picture come to be? I wonder..."

Then you are part of the problem and it terrifies me that you can vote.

It's not even about opposing political views, it's about having NO CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS! The picture is even *obviously* photoshopped - lots of pixels around the lettering but no where else, doesn't follow the flow of the shirt...

And even if it was a better photoshop job... COME ON. Like it or not he's the **** president and would not be holding up a shirt like that for a photo op! I would be just as critical of someone posting such a stupid thing about some conservative politician.

These people vote. And breed. I think I need to purge my friend list.

It's not you. It's the economy. My husband hasn't worked full time for almost 5 years now. He's having similar issues finding something- either he's over qualified or they want someone with a college degree, the heck with 30+ years of real life experience of actually doing thejob.

Mixed feels. I got my promotion I wanted but my pay increase was less than last year when I wasn't promoted. Percentage and number wise. :/

Hm...

I did get a better bonus so it evened out to more but I was kinda hoping I'd get a bump in pay bigger than usual if I got promoted.

Well that's not very nice since the example I gave is my parents.
I don't know your parents. :p My parents are my number one example that I'm thinking of. When I asked my mom why she married my dad, the answer was "I don't know" followed by "he wouldn't leave me alone." It's not a good relationship.

I'm actually dealing with mice in my car right now. They moved into our garage around the beginning of winter and somehow ended up in my car. Not a problem I thought I'd ever have, but I guess it's not all that uncommon.
Fix that ASAP!!!!

They will DESTROY your car. Say goodbye to all of your electrical systems.

My vent is that my boobs hurt. I want to chop them off. I wore a padded bra and a sports bra yesterday to keep them from moving.
