My friends son has battled brain cancer a while. Remission for 7 years but it came back this year. He's struggled a lot and its not working. He's asked to stop all the PT and radiation and everything else. Says he doesn't want to fight it anymore. He's eleven. My heart is breaking for them all. I can't imagine how a mother could deal with that. What would you do?

Tears all morning. He's a great kid.

Mine is petty: I didn't realize the drink I grabbed from the food court was $3.09 until he'd already swiped my card and it was too late to change it out for something priced reasonably.

I can't believe the strength of kids who make those decisions. My co-worker's son was 17 and decided he was done with treatments for his CP. They explained to him if you stop treatment, you'll die... and he said he was just done and didn't want to do this anymore. I just can't imagine. A friend's father had Stage 4 intestinal cancer and the same day he decided he didn't want to do treatment anymore he went in for more testing and they told him he was in remission - but his dad is like 70. That's... way different than a child making that call. It really breaks my heart to imagine. People tell me it's different for children with diseases like this. That breaks my heart even more because they can't just be children?
No parent should ever have to deal with that... ever. Horrible. =<

I just read an article about how apparently rhabdomyolysis is increasingly common in people who crossfit. I don't even crossfit but now I'm totally freaked out. WHY.

It feels like Simi broke my foot tonight on our walk. Oh my. She was pulling to go see another dog (my sister and her dog were with us) and she braced her back foot on mine and pushed off and it's sore to the touch now and hurts to point my toes. :(

.
It is just heart wrenching. I hope if I were a parent, I would be brave enough to listen to my child and their wishes. I can't imagine anything harder.

I just keep thinking about it and crying again. He's a very brave little kid.

Was bitten by a Shih Tzu today. Who gets bitten b a Shih Tzu?! To be fair, he is a very naughty little dog and we have to get him ou his kennel with a blanket. But the one I used wasn't thick enough and he managed to get his head (and teeth) out. Little turd.

Also, Brooks got colon troubles because he has the world's most sensitive stomach and I gave him raw chicken feet two days in a row. No issue with the first one, second one caused his digestive tract to go to hell. After two nights of cleaning up diarrhea explosion crates, I picked up Albon today.

I tugged too hard on the thing to turn off my lamp because I was upset and it broke.

It belonged to my grandpa.

I don't know how to fix it.

And the thing that upset me still exists too.

I think I really need to go to the dentist. /panic

Also, didn't all the dentists used to offer free exam and xrays? Why is that not a thing anymore?
My former insurance would pay for a cleaning and general xrays, but not xrays for a tooth problem. ..

I have no idea what my current insurance offers.

Seriously thought I was going to slit my wrists tonight. No one wanted to talk to me to make me feel better.

I'm past (this) serious wave of depression and still feeling really bad about myself. I wonder why.
