I wrote this about my sister's pitbull. She dated a realy nice man and dumped him for a junkee, her dog bit him in the arm for kicking him and his teeth didn't penetrate skin, and my sister got the pitbull put down. The total time that relationship lasted was about 6 weeks and she now regrets putting Spud down.

What Did I Do?

When you brought me home, you and me were best friends.
Four whole years went by. I met your boyfriend and we were friends too. Then one day, a new guy started to come over and I didn't see Tom anymore. I didn't trust the new guy.
Then one day you found out your friend died, but how was I to know? The man hugged you and I could sense your sorrow. I thought he was hurting you. How was I to know? I was protecting you. I let out a growl, and he kicked me. You yelled at him to stop hurting me. I didn't make him bleed, just told him to leave you alone because you were sad. I didn't care if he hurt me. I wanted you safe.
Then the next day, you put me in your car. I couldn't wait to go to the park!
But then I realized, we weren't at the park.
Now I'm sitting on the table, and instinct tells me what you're about to do. I didn't argue, and I didn't whine or glare at you. I just gave you a sympathetic look. I wondered why you didn't understand me.
But I still ask one thing - what did I do?

Your sister has more problems than the fact that she put down a dog that didn't deserve it. She's probably the junky's next target. Tell her to get her codependent butt outta there before she's in more trouble than she knows how to get out of. And, tell her to buy stuffed dogs from now on - they're the only kind she deserves.
RIP, Spud, you deserved better (and you seemed to be a good judge of character).
