The exciting news. :)

Okay so far we have five options ranging up to a two year old.

First option is Hiro's littermate, Bernard. He was spoken for but then his ears went one one way and one the other, so he's a half phalene, half pap. He's already through all his shots and is very healthy. He's a sweet boy and he's absolutely hilarious! Not as smart as some paps, but a great little guy. Our concerns are obviously that this is the same breeding as Hiro, however considering he's through the puppy shots that gave Hiro and his ancestors the problems, we feel he'll be fine. He's not showable too, which is a negative. Emily is really interested in him so far... We worry that he'll always remind her of Hiro.

Then there is a male tricolor papillon, about the same age as Bernard, who is owned by the sire's owner. He is showable I think but not up to the standard the breeder wants in a male he'd keep. Showing would be an option. Downside, he's a tricolor and Emily didn't want a tri again.

Then there's an undersized pet quality female that's an older pup. (I think under a year though, or right about at a year). She's a black and white papillon. I don't know much about her other than she was kept to show/breed but turned out pet quality so is looking for a home.

Then there is a female clear red and white sable (like Summer) who came from a situation like Rose's. She's very shy and timid like Rose and needs some special care. however, we've brought Rose around 180 and would most likely have no problem with this dog. The downsides is she's not suitable to show because she's too shy. She is also an older puppy, not full grown but not a youngster.

Then the last option is a tricolor two year old male that is pointed. He could be shown, but apparently has a problem keeping his tail up. Our breeder thought he was the least suitable to us. He's supposed to be completely gorgeous, though.

Anyways, I think all are from different breeders. I don't know, but I think Em is going to go meet these dogs and go from there. We're excited! :D

Personally, I would go with what Emily wanted (which seems to be what you are doing.)

I would go look at all of them and decide on one.
For me, I like the one who was like Rose or the first pup, Hiro's littermate. But I would be alittle worried about him reminding Emily to much of Hiro. :(

Very exciting.

I can't wait to find out which one steals Emily's heart.

Sending my best.

Id go with the male that is showable, but not up to the breeders standard for keeping. I know Emily wanted to show, so that might be the best option.

That's not always what your heart wants to do, so just tell Emily to follow her heart!

Btw, I forgot to mention that Bernard is sable and probably going to be very light in color. His ears keep being undecided so no telling if they'll stay one up and one down or do something totally random. No matter what in paps, you never want weak ears to be bred, so he's out for show.

ETA: I will definitely keep you all updated! :D

Well, if they come up, he could still be shown, just not bred. I don't think Emily or you guys were going to breed, or is it your breeder who said that?

If they come up, of course. :) Last I'd heard he'd been a phalene then was a papillon for a whole week. Week after he had gone half and half again. Silly boy.

I don't know if you remember, but this is him (a while ago):

You ninja'd me, Lala. I was going to post what was going on with the search. But, I guess I'll just post my personal thoughts and opinions.

My top pick is Bernard. Why? I've known him ever since he was little. He's not an unfamiliar dog to me, and I've always liked him. Him and Hiro were my favorites. Lily was cute, too, but something about Bernard's goofiness was just... Adorable, to put it frankly and mildly. He always has this grin on his face- this cute expression that sometimes reminds me of Beau. He is very friendly, outgoing, and I honestly don't think I could take another shy dog. I want a dog that's funny, silly, fun to hang around. One that would play fetch with you, would want to wrestle and stuff. The others just DON'T sound like the type of dog, personality-wise, I want. Bernard is the type that would wrestle and act silly and play with you. That's what I want. An active, fun-loving dog.

I didn't necessarily say I didn't want a tri-color. Yes, it being a tri-color would remind me of Hiro occasionally. But it's just a coloration, yeah? Just because it's a tri doesn't mean that it looks identical to Hiro. Different markings, different ticking patterns, etc, could make the dog look a bit different. - shrug -

I also stressed it to the parents that I want a male. I tend to get along with male dogs better than female dogs. Don't know why, I just do. Female dogs can get really catty (especially Summer, LOL), and I can't deal with catty (besides, I have to deal with catty high school girls already, gimme a break). Males are also more affectionate. I like affectionate.

Right now, it just feels like Bernard is the only one that comes close to what I want. Granted, I might get a little sad at the fact that he's Hiro's bro, but, heck. If it bugs me so much, then that's my own fault, yeah? And I'll learn to cope. Besides, I dunno. Bernard doesn't have a home yet, and I know Hiro loved his bro a lot. Maybe this is what Hiro would've wanted.

I don't like Bernard the best for being Hiro's bro, I like him the best because I know him, I like his personality, and he seems like he'd fit in the BEST with the family. Those are the most important things, in my opinion, about getting a puppy. You have to make sure that they'd fit in with the rest of the gang, too, and you have to make sure that they have a good personality. I don't know. It could just be that the parents didn't really tell me much about the others when it came to personality. Or, it could be that I haven't met them yet. I don't know. We'll see what happens, I guess.

I would say go for the one that captures your heart.

IME there are so many types of dog showing to try. I am sure you will find the right activity for you and the pup.

That is one of the things I love with Dekka, we keep trying all different types of dog sports together. Some events are more fun than others, but the most fun of all is the journey together.

Summer takes offense at that. Yeah, she can hold a grudge for days, but she's pretty darn affectionate!

Anyways, I am ninja. :) I think you should totally meet them all and see which one you like the best. You'll know when you meet them.

You know what will happen if we meet them all. >.>

Mom will WANT them all.

And Summer can take offense to that all she wants. We all know it's true. xD She's one of THE most catty dogs I've met (excluding Nikki). But we still love her.

That's great advice for you Em. Besides I'm pretty sure you're not as into the showing aspect as father and I am.

I really think you should meet them all, or at least the males.

And what can I say, I loooooove catty dogs. Nik was fabulous for that.

Don't worry, we're going to meet all of them.

I'll pick the one that I think goes best with me. Because I want a companion. Or a "best friend", as my mother says. ^^
