Well, the interview was a success. But...they want to pay me minimum wage.

I have years of experience in my field and a Bachelors.

*sigh*

So, I don't think it will be a go. Even though I wouldn't mind working there. I just don't know if I could live with myself working minimum wage. I didn't even ask for what I wanted (in said I'd be fine with 9.00/hr) and they basically said even that wasn't doable.

I just don't know...
I hope you find something that will pay you what you are looking for.. Unfortunately the entire state is like that. Minimum wage is most of the jobs, college or no. Server jobs or warehouse is the only thing that really pays. And the state is extremely poor, so you might not get much as a server either since people either can't or won't pay out.

Thus why we are moving. I am sorry you are having a hard time. Are there any jobs on base? Leaning on a government job or contract might be the best way to go.

7.55 an hour is minimum wage. :/

The more I think about it, the more I don't think I'll do it. No, I don't need a job for the money...but dang. I said 9 was the lowest I'd go and I think I'll stand by that.

The other place that won't have a job until September said they'd start me at 10/hr.
Ah..our minimum wage is $8/hour, so my store pays more than normal, but yeah. Although on the same token, I also just hired someone with a Bachelor's Degree at $9/hour. I'm seeing more degrees come across applications. So... it sucks out there!

This is why I'm having a hard time deciding the Carolinas vs Arizona... the jobs just really suck down there. :/

This is very good to know. Makes me feel better that they weren't just being cheap, but that it is the norm.

I don't need to support myself. Michael makes enough that we're comfortable. Me working is purely to help with saving/big ticket purchases and to stop me from going insane. I just spent most of my early career being paid way under what I was worth, and not caring about it, and now that I actually do care and want to be paid for what I can do...I can't. Just kind of sucks.

That being said, I have a few options. I've interviewed at three places, and they all wanted to hire me. Option 1 is 6 minutes away from the house, has the hours I want, and will start me at $9.50/hr, moving up to $10.00 after the probationary period. No job until September, however. Option 2 needs me starting July just to cover maternity leave, but the end point of that will happily be coinciding with Option 1's start date. Option 3 offers immediate start, 40hrs a week, a great environment with up to date procedures and diagnostics, but minimum pay and LONG days (I'd be gone 7-6 every day, and on call for emergencies one weekend a month) and a 30 minute commute.

I told Option 1 if he can guarantee that he will have a position for me in September...I would be very interesting in accepting. I'll just work Option 2 in the meantime. He's checking, but he may be able to make that guarantee. So fingers crossed.

I probably could get a job at the NEX on base. But I've missed working at a clinic, and I really want to do so again. Retail work = sad face for me.

Well, I was just contacted about scheduling yet ANOTHER interview with a different vet clinic.

I AM ABOUT READY TO GO INSANE. :fighting0040:

On the bright side, this clinic looks very promising. Easy commute (only about 10 miles away, down roads with mild traffic instead of the stressful main road commute), very nice up to date practice with equipment I'm familiar with, GORGEOUS boarding facility, and hours that sound very appealing. I am very hopeful.

On the downside, I feel absolutely horrible because I have three other clinics "on hold", basically, waiting for a concrete answer from me. The one will be a no, but I just contacted the other two this morning and basically said, "Very good chance of a yes." And now if this clinic fits what I want, I'll have to tell them, "Sorry, just kidding, I accepted a job elsewhere" after they have both been super helpful and accommodating. I feel like a jerk.

Working interview Tuesday at 8:30am. Hopefully everything will go smoothly, I fit in well with the team, and I can finally stop stressing about all of this.

So I have been informed that Charlie Hunnam is in my city this week for a movie and meeting fans.... This makes my first day in the new house much better, contemplating stalking film locations but poor Josh is working evenings and would be very jealous if I managed to meet him.

I was thinking, if the Lux books were made into movies... Alex Pettyfer would make a good Daemon/Dawson... But now I think Chace Crawford wouldn't be so bad either.

Or.

Or maybe they could both be there. Idk who would play who though. Maybe Chace is a better Daemon.

I need to stop reading Chaz right before bed. Last night, I dreamt that Alexis and Carma stopped by and took us to an IPO trial (where Bloo was expected to know everything already, and we failed. Oops.). A few nights ago, I was hiking in Idaho and found Adrianne's house? She snuck three Malinois puppies in my backpack that I didn't discover until I had made it to Colorado.

Well, my co-worker friend just told us he got a new job and has accepted. I had a feeling he was looking for something else but we have never outright said to each other what's been going on.

I'm excited for him but now I'm sad because, you know, he's my friend. Now I'll have to make an effort to go out and hang out because of the terrible inconvenience of no longer having my friend just sitting behind me at work. BOO.

I really really help this other job comes through for me now...

Lol I had a dream I was training Feist for IPO. Unfortunately she was biting everyone indiscriminately. I think I may have been doing it wrong. :p

I swear the story of my ex - husband's life is, "I didn't say that." Hmmmmm. 'Kaaaaay. This is no longer my problem.

On the other hand, BeAu and I had one girl name picked out for a hopeful child in our future. To make things even, we figured we would think of a boy name.

We walked away with two more girl names. And no boy name. /facepalm

So, hey, maybe we will get lucky and we'll have three girls first. As long as this is not more than two years in the future.

Am I weird to want all my kids before 30? I dunno.

But musing things.

2012 Civic with 26K miles on it for only $4,500.

Something seems fishy....
Hmmm....yah...that can't be right. I leased a 2011 for three years and when I returned it to the dealership it had more miles on it than that and it was still worth quite a bit of money.

Am I weird to want all my kids before 30? I dunno.
Nope. I would like to be done by the time I'm in my early 30s. My mom had her first kid at 23 and her last at 36 (5 children). I really don't want to be having kids past my early 30s, purely because I want to be "young" while they grow up. I want to be around to see those great-grand children.

Michael and I are thinking about trying next year. Will depend on a lot of things, mainly his deployment schedule. Trying to figure out when to have children is hard when your spouse is only home for 12-18 months and gone for 6-8 months at a time. :/ Unless we plan it just right and I get pregnant at just the right time, he'll either be gone for the birth or the first year of the kid's life, which I'm not happy about. *sigh*

I'd guess scam but then again could be a car with a lot of issues from some idiot messing with it or a salvage title.

We have gotten many good deals on craigslist and flipped them so at least contact them! Last truck was 3,000 or 3,500 and just sold it for ten after driving it a year.

Which husband came home with new truck today and didnt consult me on it. Kinda irked but it is in general what I like. Guess well see when I get a better look. Some of that money really could have went to new air conditioning though!
