Zooreach tomorrow night, wooo! I wasn't originally scheduled for it, but my coworker has class. She was just going to miss class, but turns out there's a test. So I'm covering for her, and I'm SO EXCITED. I did this same one last year as an animal handling assistant. Not sure if I'm doing the same this year or if I'm actually teaching programs, but I'll be happy either way. I'm also unsure of what class/animals I'll have, but I know the crested geckos are on the list, so I'm hoping for that one. I can talk ALL DAY about cresties.
Also, I worked 12 hours today, but it certainly didn't feel like it. And I realized that ever since I left the clinic, my feet have NEVER hurt during/at the end of the day. Partially because I get to do more MOVING instead of standing in one spot. And partially because I've basically been living in my VFFs since I quit, since the zoo lets me wear them to work. It's only just now I'm starting to wear other shoes because of the weather. I have a pair of Coleman hiking boots I got over the summer, and although they're not advertised as minimalist, now that they're broken in they certainly feel that way. I can definitely feel small variations in surfaces through them, and I love it. Sadly I've abused them so they're wearing out quickly (apparently they don't do well being submerged in water regularly, then stuffed into a too-small backpack and left there for 3 days without any real opportunity to dry).
