Leo likes to growl at dogs through the window, so I have been putting him in his crate on a short timeout every time he does in order to discourage it.

Lately, it has transitioned to this:
1. Leo growls at a dog.
2. Leo sprints into his crate (without me saying a word)
3. Leo waits with a sad face until I say he can come out

I officially have a dog who puts himself in timeout! :p

I am really excited about Hambone's prospects as a flyball dog. He's got a nice turn on a hit-it board (he hasn't seen an actual box yet) and today we started him over jumps - 4 jumps with gating down both sides and just doing recalls over them. He is QUICK. And he's single-striding over them which makes me happy.

I wish he'd come back to a tug, but all he wants is food. Ah well. At least something motivates him. I'll have to get him a food pouch so he has something more visual to target.

Feist is 18 weeks old now, and beginning to do a little boundary testing, barking at the cat and when I say 'hey', grumbling for a bit, that kind of ridiculous thing (she's kind of bad at being a teenage puppy). Today I took her for an off leash walk, and I find it pretty amusing that she'll recall off chasing Wesley, people walking towards us, birds, etc. etc. But the time I try to call her while she's aimlessly zooming with a pine cone in her mouth, she's BUSY SORRY BYE. And then when I ask her to 'out' goose poop of all things she does. Lady, you are a little confused about your priorities when it comes to blowing me off.

When Martie first came to the house, horrible skin and overweight, she'd play for 2 minutes and already be panting. Seven weeks later her skin looks a lot better, she's got a waist and somewhat of a tuck up, and plays with toys constantly.

Her new thing, is if she sees a toy and can't get to it she gets sooo frustrated. OMG She just sounded like a dying cat wrestling with a paranoid Chihuahua. :rofl1:

We are going to have some in-home training for Cajun's crate/separation issues. My mom talked to the trainer this morning at her obedience class and was assured that this is totally fixable. Hopefully having a plan from a trainer, and going through this, will mean my mom actually works on it and sticks with it. Kind of ridiculous that this is the biggest issue this dog has

Ned is literally the sweetest dog I've ever known. He just loves everyone, doesn't have a mean or defensive bone in his body. He is still a goofy puppy but looks at you like you are the moon and the stars. The only way I can describe him is that he's incredibly adoring.

And he is the best snuggler in the world.

Everyone needs a Koolie! They make you feel special :D

Oooh Ned, you make me happy.

I look at Traveler sometimes and figure he's singing "You are my Sunshine!" whenever he looks at people.

Does he do the thing where he curls up right against you, like in the crook of your legs or against your stomach and seems like he's trying to become one with you?

I want Ned. :p I want a cuddly dog. Haha I tried cuddling Mia and she thought we were playing bitey hands/face.

We are sad here because of the 1" or so of ice on everything right now. My poor dogs can barely make it out to potty because the grass is like ice daggers. Mia looks totally offended when I let them outside.

I am shocked at how velcro cuddly this Malinois puppy is. All of my GSD's haved loved me to no end, and follow me around EVERYWHERE. But they like to sit at your feet or across the room and just keep an eye on you rather than snuggle. This thing wants to be on me all the time. I love it.

They're all about the touching and then more touching! If you're not touching them... well you probably should be, why aren't you? :D

Wow mals sound so nice ... It sucks that their temperament is so dependent on how they are raised and if you don't do it exactly right the. It could all go wrong ... I can't take that pressure so I stick with more "handler error friendly" breeds lol

I have this in my snugly brindle mutt Jubel and I love it. Very happy with my snugle bug. None of my fosters have been this snugly which I guess is good so I don't have two dogs trying to become one with me at the same time. I hope to always have at least one snugly dog.

It's totally helpful! You guys just don't know it yet LOL :)

YES! He always has to be pressed up against me. Either next to me on the couch or snuggled right up to my chest in bed (with his head on my neck <3). When he was a puppy he loved laying on my lap but he's outgrown it, so now he just puts his shoulders/head on my lap. Or will lie perpendicular to my lap, with his head and butt hanging off, which is rather uncomfortable lol.

I don't know how many pictures I have on my phone of him snuggling and being adorable. Tons, lol.

I made a big mistake and started working Story... I've been putting it off as I'm already immensely attached to this dog and by training her I'm just creating more of a bond.

We started to work on heel position and shaping to a plate. This will be the end of me if she catches on any faster. Breeder wants me to hold onto her for a bit and get her ready for some OB trials to hopefully title her. I have mixed emotions. :(

Story looks (and sounds) like a keeper to me! ;)

I had a dream about Virgo the other night and just something about the dream makes me think that she's gone to the Rainbow Bridge, peacefully. I haven't talked to her owner in a few years so I don't even know how to get a hold of them at this point to check in.

Get home from the reception, shimmy in to some lingerie I had bought special for the occasion...and Cynder regurges all over the floor, couch, blanket, and Michael, who luckily did not wear his dress blues home.

So Michael is now cleaning up dog vomit - which involves shampooing the couch, cushions, and floor - and I'm trying to decide if I should just go to bed because I'm tired and now the fun has been pretty much evaporated.

*sigh*
