Laur, when we were looking for Fergus I saw SO MANY intact adolescent herders on Craigslist that people got as puppies and then found out "Hey, this dog is kinda....a lot of dog." I would have taken so many of them in a heartbeat if that was what I was looking for.
So, Didgie NEEDS to get out of heat. She's in full blown standing right now (totally not going to be able to compete
) and Fergus just spent the entire dog park trip trying to hump all the dogs and Traveler spent half the night pacing and whining.
They're both being so good but at this point no one is having any fun. Didgie wants to get out and go to the dog park and she wants to be with her boys and they are sick of being confined to the basement and the smell is just messing with them all.
But, I will say during all this that they have all been really good. It's not been a pain at all until the last couple days. I hate crating and rotating but they've been great sports.
