What kind of surgery?
Something to realign the bone? I wasn't given the specifics, just the cost and the general gist (that it's to do with the set of the bone in his hip after an incorrectly healed old injury). And of course, I can't find the email now.

Side note, I had to reschedule the meeting with houndy gal to this upcoming Tuesday. And I am not a patient person.

THIS GUY right here for all the cattle dog lovers:

https://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/29642805/

This pup is adorable but I wouldn't want a pup from rescue since he's already neutered. https://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/30006432

Potential: https://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/30137720/

Also these guys:

Ugh I need to stop and not even look till September. Less than a month.... though I should probably give the girls some time to settle in before adding another.

Laur, when we were looking for Fergus I saw SO MANY intact adolescent herders on Craigslist that people got as puppies and then found out "Hey, this dog is kinda....a lot of dog." I would have taken so many of them in a heartbeat if that was what I was looking for.

So, Didgie NEEDS to get out of heat. She's in full blown standing right now (totally not going to be able to compete :( ) and Fergus just spent the entire dog park trip trying to hump all the dogs and Traveler spent half the night pacing and whining.

They're both being so good but at this point no one is having any fun. Didgie wants to get out and go to the dog park and she wants to be with her boys and they are sick of being confined to the basement and the smell is just messing with them all.

But, I will say during all this that they have all been really good. It's not been a pain at all until the last couple days. I hate crating and rotating but they've been great sports.

I am pretty sure Indiana Jones is the cutest dog on the planet.

Our craigslist is full of young heelers and heeler mixes. There have been quite a few 6-12 month old heelers up for adoption because they're 'hyper'.

Speaking of rescue heelers, we've now gone two full weeks with no dog fights. They've even progressed to occasional casual butt sniffing rather than just pointedly ignoring each other.

Batch 2 of dog cookies... The first was bacon & peanut butter flavor and the dogs went crazy for them. CRAZY. This batch is peanut and pumpkin.

I'm kind of having fun with them. :)

Having dog breeder conversations with my mom is the biggest waste of energy. "Well Cajun didn't have any health testing so why is it okay that we got her." Cajun was being rehomed on Craigslist! That... is not even anywhere near the same as choosing a breeder.

Quiddich is now a graduate of basic obedience! He was clearly the best in the class, at least in my eyes and has made such big improvements with his behavior. In two weeks, it's up to intermediate!

Gave Recon a little break from disc. Took him out tonight for a short session- his last before our big event this weekend. The boy was on fire. I've never felt more connected to a dog. So excited to play with him this weekend in Naperville!

It's becoming very irking that the people I live with can't respect what I'm trying to do with Chomper. I suppose it happens living with family, but I've wanted him on a schedule for things and things to be done a certain way and things keep getting messed up by them. I'm mostly upset that they feed him too many treats or let him freely eat the other dog's food and you can see he's already a bit chunky. Ugh, I'm so happy when I get days alone while they're out of town to have things how I want them for both myself and Chomper and just living.

We are commissioning someone to make Crossbone a dog bed (but big enough for two haha). It's probably going to be ridiculously expensive but I'm super excited to see how it turns out.:popcorn::popcorn:
