But who needs this much dog shampoo!!
I bought one bottle at least 4 years ago (it was well before Gusto was around) and it is still nearly half full.

But don't ask how many half-full bottles of shampoo I threw away after Tristan died. Apparently I just fed the need with horse shampoo.

I have a disease. It's called "must buy all the shampoos."

I know there's at least one not in the picture. And granted, a couple of these bottles were given to me. But who needs this much dog shampoo!!
I don't know, but I'm just as bad, I bought three bottles of Chris Christensen shampoo for Bristol, yes I bath her often, but I use a tablespoon each bath, maybe...I guess I thought she needed a lifetime supply at one shot. Then Diesel has his own Shampoo and Gage has his own shampoo, then there is the cats shampoo as well, oh and Bristols conditioner as well...and conditioner sprays.

Summer got shaved for her ultrasound. Just the belly but man she looks so trim this way. I keep watching her and thinking of how beautiful she is. She's a really nicely put together little dog.

She's also obsessed with the cat and also running up and down the stairs full tilt. We're house sitting right now and she's so funny just pinging around at the mention of the word cat. I swear Summer gets better and better as she gets older. I'm so glad we got good news because I don't know what I'd do without her.

I probably shouldn't post a photo of all of mine... we don't have a Petco here, nobody else who stocks Earthbath... I found a bunch at TJMaxx about a year ago... and bought every. single. bottle.
I won't have to buy shampoo probably ever again.

Gambit's obsession with being hit was cute for a while. Now it's gotten to be a little weird. He will literally run up to people he knows and drop into a play bow, waiting to have his butt spanked. And not just patted, either. He wants a full on slap on the flanks, as hard as the person possibly can. It's creepy.

It makes him so happy, and a part of me just wants to let it go because any social interaction with people is a good thing for him, but another part of me is kind of embarrassed by him.

Suggestions? He will perform a sit for pets, but not with the same pleasure he gets from a good spanking. Should I even try to fix this, or just accept him as he is and buy the boy some leather pants and a glow necklace?

Meh. Abrams likes to be beat with things and gets ridiculously excited about it. I just go with it. People just think we're horribly abusive when they overhear us talking about how a certain object would be perfect for beating the dog with.

My vent:

STILL FLEAS! I just don't even know anymore. Think it'd be safe to apply another topical two weeks after doing the first? Apparently the fact that we've been giving her baths nullifies the topical we applied, according to the vet I work with. What the heck good is a topical then if bathing strips it off! I wish I knew of a vet around here that would give Program injections. I would feel so much more happy knowing the bastards can't reproduce.

And I still can't find any evidence of fleas on the dogs, so I know their product is doing the job. Just this dang cat. Ugh. The fact that she keeps getting reinvested worries me that the environment still has them, but I've sprayed everywhere! Ugh.

I hate fleas. All parasites, actually.

And because I'm being miss whiney pants:
I totally understand that it takes awhile to get rid of all fleas in the environment. I also realize just because you see live fleas, that doesn't mean the prevention is failing - they just may not be dead yet. I *also* realize that we are literally seeing maybe one or three fleas on her. (Granted, she's a cat, so how many she is grooming off I can't say. But we certainly don't have an epidemic going on.) And I'm sure in a month or two, we'll have a handle on it, and in a month or two more there will be no issue.

But I just hate fleas.

You can apply it two weeks after the first. And yes baths two days before applying the topical, or after, can nullify it. You would want to bathe with something soap free if you need to bathe her. I would Capstar rather than bathing anyway..

Is Capstar an option?

I buy stupid things like poop bag dispensers :rofl1: 120 bags and a dispenser for $5, how do you say no!!!

So, I buy Maddie some pet stairs so she'll stop jumping on/off the bed and couch. She'll use them, but she's nervous if them and will try to get me to lift her up instead - like waking me up at 1am.
So I find a really nice wood ramp and with a treat she uses it without hesitation :)
Last night, she woke me up at 2am to be lifted up. wtf Maddie. I ignore her for about 20mins, then she uses the stairs right next to the ramp instead

...I have $60 in pet furniture right now that I said I'd NEVER buy :rofl1:

I waited the 2 days after applying before bathing. She said that even though I had waited, it still nullified the product. Which I wasn't aware of being an issue. After applying it and waiting I was still seeing fleas, so I bathed her. She had been treated three weeks prior with the same product, and was not bathed. And she still had fleas.

Does Capstar only kill adult fleas, or does it target other stages? I've thought about it, but if it only targets adults and she keeps getting reinfested, I may as well just keep bathing since the damage has been done already and save my $40 for a preventative when the time comes.
