Is that normally just a male thing? Cajun chatters her teeth after sniffing bushes and stuff. Or Juno's girly parts lol. She's 15 months and intact. And definitely female lol.

I just want it to end LOL. He's even sniffing places (where I'm guessing girls have sat) in the training center and getting chattery and foamy. If I only had to deal with it during down time that would be one thing, but the fact that it disrupts training sometimes is the really obnoxious part. Though it WOULD be nice to say, hang out with my best friend and our dogs without his being weird

My dogs rock. This new job is really, really stressful for dogs and they are handling it like pros. Not only are they performing in front of 300+ crowds of people multiple times a day, but they are on display in their runs between shows and are LOVING coming out and getting pet by all the kids and people. I am so grateful to have dogs with such awesome, stable temperaments and dogs that truly enjoy getting so much attention.

I'm also loving the baby dogs' progress. Zip Tie is almost ready to do agility in the show (just a simple, fast circle) and Renegade is getting her freestyle routine pieced together. Mighty Mouse has a bit to go, I think she'll be a long term project to get her ready, but man, she has so much fun during training!
It's really a testament to your training, too! How lucky that your job involves training and working with your own dogs! If you are ever able to tape a show, I would LOVE to see it. I doubt I will be getting out that way any time soon :p

Brooks is hanging out in the gated hall (Clive was sleeping on the couch and Brooks does not have the "mayhaps I should not bounce on the sleeping toddler" portion of his brain) and he stole the grooming rake off the shelf and chewed off the end. Seriously, Poodle?

ETA: he may not chatter and pee taste, but he is ass enough in other ways, lol

Zoe is a spayed female and sometimes does it when she licks her bits. Or licks blood. Or a salt water compress. I was using one on her the first time she did it, and I had never heard of it before. I was like "what is this freak doing???" Then I made her lick it again. Then I freaked out again. :rofl1:

Spayed female or not, though, the only other dog I know that marks as much as she does is a full-of-himself intact Shiba. Zoe is a ballsy boy at heart.

My carbon monoxide detector apparently got unplugged and started doing the 'low battery' beep. Dogs do not like.

I finally got it reset and it did a lot of loud beeping. Came back in the bedroom and Summer is on the bed shaking like crazy. Mia was huddled under the bed in a tiny ball. So sad. I coaxed her out and they both settled down pretty quickly.

That noise is loud to my ears let alone theirs I'd imagine!

Though it does worry me that in the event of an emergency like a fire or something that Mia would hide and I wouldn't be able to find her.

I think Buddy has mild SA. Because when no one is home, he digs at the door to his crate (it has a double latch so he cant push out under it) and pushed all his blankets to the back >_<.

He does it at night too when I am not here, as long as someone is in the room he is fine, its only when I am not staying here or all of us leave. Of course this is easy alleviated by giving him a cow horn or antler to chew while we are gone ... the problem is people forget to when I am not here :/.

Went to the park/lake. Fiona went swimming, had a good time. We passed by five or six dogs, and there was not one woof! She looked a little and whined a teensy bit, but no barking! One was a boxer that was barking and lunging a bit and Fiona was pretty cool. Always nice.

Of course!! And Zuma is absolutely in love with everyone. She's such an attention *****. :D
I'm so excited for you! I'm still just flabbergasted that you landed it! What an opportunity of a lifetime.

I know that the meet & greet/pat & chat after the shows is the least favourite of my dogs. I rarely bring Mega out for it, and Cohen only wants to work for treats and would really rather you not touch her thankyouverymuch. It works out okay though since the kids like to run her through her tricks, but the shows would be easier without.

We have a big show coming up this weekend and I'm totally stoked for it. We're introducing flyball into our show, and we've not done it before. It's been a long time since Cohen trialled in flyball but she's decent at it. I found out today that she's running against my friend's 10-year-old-but-still-crazyfast Malinois. I know Cohen won't be able to outrun this dog, but I'm hoping she can hold her own.

... This is after we do agility, freestyle, obedience and more. Cohen is going to be tired going in, and exhausted coming out.

YAY Art and Talon!!!! How did he do at class???

I'm so tired of Jari being a boy. He's gross. He licks and chatters CONSTANTLY. I brought him over to my friend's house and she has two intact females (neither is in season or is going in to season obviously) and he just would NOT leave them alone. I thought he would maybe like run and play like a normal dog, but no. Her one dog would do very light corrections that Jari ignored, and her other just didn't care what he was doing. I really hope this phase ends one day :/
.
Boy dogs are disgusting. lol Talon is like that with Art, it's disgusting! I keep redirecting when he starts going near, but it's only barely declining the behavior. :( How old is Jari again? Talon's around 19months so I don't think it's going to end *cries*

Class went great! :) We did a "gauntlet" thing were basically Talon had to stay with me as we walked through a "hallway" and back full of dogs on either side all playing with toys or moving from side to side fast and one dog that moved across his path. Both of which are big triggers for him, but he did great, barely looked at the dogs! ^_^ The gauntlet changed for each dog, so that was kind of fun as well.

Also, Talon's instructor approached us after class to see if we wanted to participate in her private class afterwards. It was a BAT training session with a dog that was in Talon's previous class and the instructor thought Talon would be a great dog to work with and she's noted I had great control/communication with him and knew when he was going over threshold. She had a stuffed dog and another dog she could use, but the dog she was working with didn't care about the stuffed dog. The other dog she had got a bit unnerved at other dogs barking at it so she didn't want to stress it out. She also needed a dog that would stare at the other dog a bit, which Talon can do lol

I was worried about Talon reacting, but she said watch him and if we feel uncomfortable in any way move away, hide behind the tree to calm Talon down and let her know. So I decided to do it, and it was great.

Talon was perfect. I'd have him LAT just long enough for the other dog to see the eye contact and than he'd look back at me like we worked with. The other dog was really making a lot of progress, which was cool to see. The other dog only had a reaction (barking/growling) once and that was the very beginning when she was trying to show the owners how to do it and where not to go. Talon handled that great. :)

We got a huge bag of really cool grain free treats out of it too ^_^ She also said we did great, if we'd ever like to help her out and learn more about BAT we might be able to come up with an arrangement for payment of some kind (like a free class) so that's awesome.

*(edit* two pics of Talon at class, he said "relaxing is hard work" lol

Can't decide if I'm way too obsessed with my dog's every shifting mood/energy level/focus, or if babydog is coming into heat soon. :rofl1:

Eww when Bear was intact he would chatter and be all nasty when he was younger, even with spayed females. I didn't put up with it, if he did it I would hive him a tug on the lead and a firm "NO!" if he did it again, I removed him for a time out.

I have found it helps when put with a female who will NOT put up with it. I am pretty lenient with behavior as far as my dogs go but "horny" behavior I do not tolerate.

that's also why I don't have male dogs anymore, either ... because I hate the way they behave and to me they are sometimes just ... gross. >_<
