Oh I am the master of couch sitting and playing fetch. I'm also the master of doing my hair and playing fetch at the same time.

Jari will just get in to EVERYTHING POSSIBLE when he wants me to play with him. It's like he knows that if he gets himself in to trouble I will redirect him with something to play with/chew/whatever. He's a smart jerk. Like digging at the carpet. He just does it and if I even so much as make a move, he stops and stares at me. If I get up to go towards him, he runs to me all happily, proud that he made me stop whatever it was I was doing

His interest in fetch doesn't last long, but if he wants a lovin' he'll never give up. He just sort of... sidles up next to you on the couch and puts himself in your lap no matter what you do. Resistance is futile. I'm not even quite sure how he does it sometimes, it's like a superpower.
That's Bubbles. I don't even know how she does it, but quite often she will just BE there, and I have no clue how/when I started petting her. She just appears in my lap or against my leg if I'm in a chair.

When I lived in the sticks, it was easy enough to just take her out and play fetch. When I lived in the sketch, I didn't fancy walking her to fields to play fetch in. So I tried to make our backyard as big as possible, by using the house too. :)

Good day. Nosework practice then we hiked. It was freaking cold. I don't know if it's humidity or what but it feels colder than it says it is out there.

I took each of the boys out to the golf course for a little running around and to practice some off leash work, which is brand new to us. I had an epiphany about a week ago that I don't put enough trust into them, specifically Riff... of course he's going to go out of my comfort zone if my comfort zone is only about 10 feet away from me. So I put him on a long line, practiced some recalls, then dropped the line and let it drag. Riff was GREAT. So great. Once I pushed past the panic of seeing my dog run in a different direction than me, it went so well. He naturally doesn't stray too far. We played some frisbee, and after quite a while of doing that I took the leash off completely. He was perfect. So proud of him!

I took Rowan out, too, after I put Riff up. I trust Rowan a lot less because he's got such strong prey drive... I know if he sees something small and furry, he'll be gone, at least at this point in his training. But it's snowy and icy and all the critters that live on the golf course seem to be in hiding, so I ended up letting the leash drag for him a bit, too. He wasn't as good as Riff - he got distracted a few times and I had to chase him down a couple times (not that he ran THAT far, but farther than I trust him to be)... but he was still a LOT better than I expected! I'm so proud of my boys :)

Then as we were going inside we did see a bunny, and his focus was GONE. Good thing I was holding the leash. Well... it's a work in progress :p

Why is my almost-5-year-old dog all of a sudden looking like an allergy dog with yeast? :( Her abdominal rash is back with a vengeance and not clearing up as easily, and now she's starting to get red around her nail beds and has red staining on her paws. :( You're supposed to be the healthy one that lives forever, Juno. Stop it.

Is this just payback for every time I have ever commented "allergies suck to figure out, glad my dog doesn't have them"????

Why does it have to be misty when it's cold? I just want to hike the dogs for a couple hours but it's so cold we can only stay out for 40ish minutes before we freeze. Tried to do some weave work this morning and Mia and Summer were shivering about 5 minutes in.

Note to self: Bringing Ma'ii to Sonic without the truck is a BAD idea, as he tries to herd the waitresses on roller skates!

LOL! Oh no!

Side note- I met a pittie mix yesterday named Charlie who was everything I think that Charlotte is, almost down to looks. Just a little younger! I called her Charlotte numerous times. XD I was smitten. Thought you needed to know. ;)

Yesterday I told my mom "I'm pretty sure either Pepper has already BEEN in season and just didn't bleed or she's just faking and not going in. I'm probably just going to take her back."

This morning she said "I saw a tiny spot of blood on the kitchen floor this morning... so I put Pepper's panties on..."

I checked and SURE ENOUGH. BLEEDIN'.

STUPID STUPID HEAT CYCLES.

When I think about trimming Merlin's ear fringe I get the weirdest random utter guilt because it makes me feel like I'm telling my kid he's ugly and changing something about him for purely my benefit.

I understand this is totally irrational and crazy talk and yet every time he goes to get groomed I'm like ehhhhhhh leave them alone
