I actually had a coworker trying to convince me that Gambit must be horribly constipated, because his poops were so tiny on raw. Nope, those bunny turds are it.

I haven't gotten Millie's hearing checked by the vet yet, but she's obviously going deaf. She's always been a dog to listen to even my tiniest whisper, but now I have to clap my hands and jump around to get her attention.
I know hearing can become a problem in older dogs, but it's still been an unpleasant surprise to me.
Bandit is harder of hearing now too. I am glad he is such a velcro dog otherwise I wouldn't ever want to let him off leash. He stays so close though it hasn't been an issue/

Talon did so good today! He was so excitedly bouncing around the house so we took him to the dog park, and I'm glad we did. The park was pretty full, but looking in seemed like a good group of dogs, so we decided to go in. Talon was super happy, not a single problem with any of the dogs, very appropriate play and stellar recalls!

He sometimes get's too focused on chasing other dogs and we've been working on calling him off if we see him getting too intense. This cattle dog started chasing this small poodle mix too intensely and Talon saw and decided to join the hunt, but we called him and mid chase he did a u-turn and ran straight to us! :D Sometimes I really love this dog.

Yes, I'm so glad Millie a velcro dog as well. She always prefers to be my side, so it's not going to be as much of a problem as if she were a bolter or liked to take off without me or anything.
Send my love to Bandit, btw. Love that dog. <3

Yes same here. I never had to leash him on sidewalks before but now for safety I do but other than that his hearing loss isn't that big of a deal. I think his eyes are going too but don't tell him that. He still acts like a baby. When I tell people he is almost 10 they often ask if I mean ten months because he is so silly.

Aww send Millie our love too! Every time I drop in I am seeing less and less faces I remember. It is nice to see an old face still going strong.

First skijor race of the season tomorrow. I'm excited and nervous at the same time.

Not as nervous as last year when it was our first skijor race EVER, but still nervous. :p

I'm watching Joey play at my work right now and I have to say I'm so impressed with how far he has come from the dog I brought home. He is still his corky self, but he has matured so much. He's put on the weight and looks so much better. Went from about 35 or 36lbs to about 50lbs. He is doing so well with his training and is much MUCH better on leash. He also is one of the happiest dogs I know. I just love him so much and I'm glad I ended up keeping him. I will probably forever have Ibizans in my life. I thought I was sold on them before, but I'm really sold on them now.

We finally had a warm, sunny day on a weekend, after one of the more miserable winters I can remember. So, the dogs and I hit my favorite walking spot, and just meandered around on the various trails for 6.5 miles.

By about mile 4.5, I was pretty done (but sadly far from the car).

By about mile 5.5, Gusto was walking on my heels.

About a quarter mile from the parking lot on the way back, Meg was still tearing up ice-covered rocks and leaping off cliffs, despite me telling her to take it easy. She is, at best, 9 years old. This weekend marks 8 years I've had her. At one point on the hike, when she was doing butt-tucked puppy fits through the woods, I told her to start acting her age, then quickly said "don't you dare".

We went outside today for the first time in weeks! Although I probably need to suck it up and buy a new pair of booties. Juno kept alternating between "omg so fun WHEE" to "omg I can't put my feet down." Guess it doesn't much matter if the sun is out and the air temperature is okay, snow and ice are still cold on nekkid feets. :p

Whelp. The girls are as ready as they can be for the audition. Now it's going to be up to me to keep my nerves down. I keep telling myself that they will either like what they see or they won't. They'll either see our potential or figure we have too much work ahead of us still. One of the people that is watching has seen us play a few times in person though, so I assume I wouldn't be brought in with all expenses paid without having the skills they need. Either that or they haven't consulted her at all and they are going to be sorely disappointed when we get there.

I am so excited to show off their agility though. No confidence needed with that one! Maybe we'll hit agility first boost up our confidence and then move onto disc.
Good luck! I'm sure you guys will do amazing!

I was reading last night and came upon a forum post (just through a google search) about a girl that was trialing her dog in rally. She was having a fear issue with jumping different jumps. Keep in mind this dog has an alphabet of titles around his name.

She Q'd and placed the whole weekend, and NQ'd in the highest level classes. Came home with a handful of ribbons, and then posted a picture of her OTHER dog posing with the ribbons because she was so disappointed in the dog she trialed. And then she posted 'a day later' she was feeling better and snuggled with him. And she's complaining that she wishes she had a 'normal' dog that would jump a jump.

So then someone posts 'Someday you will get your 'reward' dog!'... really?!

I know we all get discouraged about things with our dogs, it just really bothers me that people act like that...I mean, be thankful you have a dog that CAN trial to some extent. Be thankful you have a dog at all! Maybe it's just me but it makes me sad...I couldn't come home from a trial and shun my dog because he didn't perform well! I don't think at all it's a bad thing to want to be competitive and do well, it's just...gah! Appreciate your dog!

Holy crap. That makes me want to give my dogs both huge hugs. They're freaking awesome for just being themselves, no matter the things we may find trouble with. I cannot imagine being disappointed in them like that.
