Stopped a dog attack in time

Well this last sunday I was walking Pompadour (also my mom and brother were wit me) when a family was walking also their dog, a mini schnauzer.


The dog was growling at Pompadour and trying to run at my dog, then the schnauzer got loose as it seems they weren't holding the leash right we were in a narrow space (a fenced corridor) and they were in a green area, Pompadour was walking in front of me almost under my brother legs.

The schnauzer came running directly behind me in attempt to pass under my legs and attack Pompadour but I catched the dog a few inches before he could injure my dog.

I holded the schnauzer by the chest who was still trying to reach Pomps growling and desespered to get loose.. until the owners came to grab him, they didn't even say sorry.

Normally I would have say something to them but my brother stared lecturing me while I was holding the dog, telling me to be careful to prevent dog fights, and according to him it appears it was my fault because I was walking my dog near them and that tempted the other dog to attack..... sigh, but they were like 3 meters apart from us when the schnauzer got loose and ran at us :dunno:

Good save! I was at an event a little over a week ago and a fellow brought his dog into the store with no leash? He didn't really offer specifics when I asked if he wanted a leash he said no, just that he forgot there was an event that day, so I gather he might just let his dog roam around the store? In any event, I had a Pit that isn't fond of other females when suddenly a houndy gal is just flying through the air at us. I was thinking "Oh god what am I going to do.." when the lady in front of us just appeared and snatched the hound up in her arms. Impeccable timing.

I was there and I still almost can't believe it. She didn't even skip a beat. Just dove forward and scooped her up- and the hound definitely wasn't small!
