Hello

I have a 8 1/2 month old Dobe whose front paws slightly point outwards when she is standing.

Is this normal for pups? Proper conformation is all paws pointing straight is it not? Will she grow out of it? Is there something I can do to correct this (ie: maybe put some more wieght on her, she is on the lean side, but not skinny).

Maybe I am overreacting but thats what new parents do :)

Is she going to be a show Dobe? Otherwise, i wouldn't stress out over it too much. She might just be going through a growth phase that is putting her slightly out of whack. Summerriot's dog Riot had easty-westy feet when he was about that age, but they self-corrected once his chest starting to fill out.

There's really not much you can do to correct and as far as weight goes, I like to see a dog that is more on the lean side than slightly chubby.

No, she will not be a show dog, but I guess I've seen other dobes (and other dogs for that matter) who do have a proper stance and was worried that maybe I was doing something wrong (ie: not feeding enough, or not giving supplements etc).

Glad to hear my initial thought was probably right in that she will outgrow it when she fills out.

Thanks!
