Hyia my 5 year old grandaughter is having her first sleep over at her nana's house. All is quiet and she is tucked in with Mary on one side and Victor on the other. She has never slept with any animal let alone someone was warm and wonderful to hold as Mary. I was going to keep Victor out here with me..but he would have none of that..he wanted to sleep with her too. I am fighting down the temptation to crack the door and take a pic. We had such a nice evening..watching Snoopy's Easter then getting ready for bed. She is having a very nice night!

I will wait until all are completely out before i try..don't want Victor to jump up..he just had to get himself in there and wiggled right under the covers..i had kept him out of the room while i read stories becuase he was still rowdy..he cried at the door and got very bent out of shape so finally i opened it and he made it clear he was to be one of the kids too! He never goes to bed this early. mary always went to sleep with AAron when he was that age. She knows it is her duty to watch over. I use to tell her she slept with my son and i slept with hers.

At 10 pm Luke stuck his head in the door and hollared..IS ANYBODY HOME>>>I GOT A JOB>>>WHERE IS EVERYBODY? so of course up hops Victor and Hyia....she squirmed and wiggled and tossed for an hour before i said if you don't settle down i will have to take you home..so she squirmed another half hour even tho i came to bed with her...it's a big big mattres..almost as big as the room. Finally she wrapped an arm around vic..who hasn't left her side the whole time..the lights are off..i can see her fingers playing with the end of his nose and i am amazed he is not moving..i can see his eyes are open..her fingers are touching the holes in his nose. Finally she dropped off..so did he..and then at last me.. This morning when she woke up..Vic still in the same place she announced...her words...this is a lovely family. Glad she thought so.
That is our first successful spendover party. I did take a pic and will post it when i can get it developed in a couple days.

I had my 15 month old grand-daughter for 2 nights. Her mommy is due to have a baby anyday now and got sick with the flu. If this little one could, she'd be sleeping with Princess. They love each other so much. Its so sweet seeing her go up to Princess and giving her big hugs. She'll even lay on the floor next to Princess to hug her. Anytime she cries Princess jumps up and goes straight to her, they seem to have a real bonding.

my Mother will be 80 in June..we wanted to start at gradual..so one or two days a month and slowly increase that. She calls my mum GG and I am Nana..she really had a good time with Victor and i am glad..normally when i go over to Mom's everyday...Victor is on high gear and the toy and excitement make for problems..he has to down stay and Hyia has to not tease him. this is the first time they actually got to just hang out together.

We use to worry about Princess getting to excited with my grand-daughter. We still take precautions. When they first get here, make Princess leave the room until she can settle down just to make sure she doesnt go knocking her down. I have to work with her on tormenting Princess, start it young! Yesterday morning she laid on the bed kicking Princess and laughing. Cant have that. Dont want Princess to ever look at a little kid as being bad, and I dont want my grand-daughter growing up thinking its ok to treat a animal that way. Even though she is so young, still gotta work with her on that now so she grows up with it being natural to always treat a animal with respect.

How old is Princess? Victor will be one year and 5 months April 1. I will think of April 1 as his birth day because that is the day i found him on Petsaver.com..if you haven't seen his pics..he is pretty good lookin..he is in my gallery. Your dog must be around the same age?

Don't you wish everyone could open their hearts and experience such sweetness from animals and children?

it is always good for the animals in my house...that was one thing i did right in my life..i gave Bronki the best life..i don't think he had a complaint in the world...from the day he was born until the day he died..not many get a chance like that in life. had his Mother with him the whole time..two mums to love him much! Victor knows he has dropped into a good life..today becuase he got carried away in his big circle of the yard (boundry training is so HARD) he had to go out on the leash..he caught me unawares and bolted a really big circle..going around one neighbor's house, i hollared at him to get back RIGHT NOW and he not only returned but to the exact spot he was when he took off.and stood there..beside my knee..he does not risk losing us..i wish i knew his story..of the 5 months i didn't have him, i think at least 20 days or more where spent in a shelter or a kennel. He went balistic the first time i saw him. and he rubbernecked everything on the road when we left Connie's at Save_Our_STrays. He was so skinny your finger fell in between his ribs..at first i thought someone had starved him but i think the whole living situation stressed him out so bad he couldn't eat. Took some time and lots of tubes of nutrical before he filled out.

Maybe its best you dont know his story! Might break your heart everytime you think of it. The main thing is he found a wonderful home and he never has to worry again.
We dont know exactly how old Princess is, we are guessing she was born a year ago in Dec. The guy who gave her to us (wasnt his dog but he talked the owner into giving her up so she'd have a better life) wasnt sure just how old she was. So she's about the same age as Victor. We think Princess had a tough start in life also. She was so scared of people when we first got her, but it didnt take long to get her past that. Cant help but feel she had a bad experience with water because of how she reacts to it. I know dogs normally dont like baths, but I've never had one act like they was going to hyperventlate or pass out from fear. You'd have to see it to truely understand how she acts and how abnormal it is. She freezes, shakes, pants real fast. Its the saddest thing to see.

Try taking a bowl..small bowl of warm water and a wash cloth..ring out the cloth and go over her ears, face, head in the same kind of strokes a mother's tongue would do..i can make a dog melt in my hand and groan with pleasure when i do this..go down her legs..do it a little at a time..as if you were taking her back and starting her over. This is what i did with Vic. Then you can associate the wash cloth with the tub. That might help..i have done this with very sick puppies that have parvo..cleaning them up and i think that one of the reason the ones i worked with lived..and the vet's didn't. When we got hit with parvo that time we had two litters, and two puppies from California..boss couldn't send all to the vet..it would have broke us..so i took the weaker and he sent the stronger..mine lived. That is when i developed my washcloth technique. If you do try it and it works..let me know. I thought Princess and victor sounded the same age...I got him in April..and the vet said he was 5 mths old so that would have put him born in DEc if i counted right.

I am pretty sure Victor was a teenager's dog..he was very excited about Aaron when he first came..already knew the sound of cellophane, loved bubblegum, knew all about flashlights and lazer pointers...showed interest in a particular truck that went down the road..and amazingly was terrified of a woman and a girl that came over once..thought he was going to leave for good..had to take him around the side of the house and sit holding him until they left. That is all i am sure of..he was not housebroken..or he had forgotton, but we had it overwith in two days. He learns quickly. I hope to reintroduce frisbee when he gets a bit older..wwe do bubbles now..he isn't satisfied until he has popped the last one..i was looking for your gallery...do you have one up cause i haven't found it yet.
