I've had a bunch. I'm not going in depth with all of them, but they were all awesome dogs.

I believe my first was a Rottie mix puppy, no pictures though.
Dodge! Found him on the side of the road, emaciated.

Two herder mix puppies, Max and Jules, found running on a road in Florida.

Two more puppies from a bad situation. Gunner and Maggie!

Bo the Dobie! Went into Dobie rescue

Maggie and Lady from a hoarder rescue lady who was shutting down (fostered through rescue). It was quite an adventure to get these girls, but so worth it.

Jack the Chihuahua, was chasing cars and needed a new home. I had him for like a day haha, a friend took him.

Chase! Some guy told his neighbor he was going to drown the leftover puppies, so my mom took him and he found a good home.

These two were the worst.
Calista...it was the day before I was leaving to move to Texas, I thought she was a blue Italian Greyhound running down the road. Thankfully I stopped, managed to catch her, and realized she was a mangy emaciated puppy on death's doorstep. I somehow managed to get her into rescue and to their vet that night (which I later fostered Maggie and Lady through!).

She lived and recovered! I got to meet her like two years later at an adoption event.

And Honey. I had a woman call my store and give me a sob story about how she was putting this girl down the next day and blah blah. I got suckered into taking her, got her a bit sorted out, and got her into pug rescue. She was adopted by a vet tech at a vet dermatologist, which couldn't have worked out better.
The night I brought her home

A month later?

Way to make me cry! :p

I'm sure most here know both my fosters as they have been within the past year.

Lucy definitely had my heart on a string. A few key factors and she wouldn't have left. She's got a great home now, though, and is very loved. <3 that girl. She came from a kill shelter in KY, iirc. Was an owner surrender. Very shy, so was picked up by One Heeler At A Time in IN. Adopted out pretty quickly, then returned a year later. Then came to me, stayed for 6 months, then was adopted out again. Her thread: http://chazhound.com/forums/showthread.php?t=251117

Seal was a last minute decision from a FB post. She was pulled by a few Chazzers themselves and lived with me for 2? months before I placed her with a super nice guy who lives locally. Last I heard she was doing great! I'm hoping to meet up with them this spring. She came from a high kill shelter in NC on the day of her euth date. Her thread is... here!: http://chazhound.com/forums/showthread.php?t=260564&highlight=seal

Fun thread! :) We've only had a few, and they were all a while ago, so I don't think I've ever shared them here.

I think Delta was the first, our longest term foster (we had her for a month or so) and a very sweet girl, but quite shy since she was previously a kennel dog.

We had Tessa too, a whippet who came from a similar situation, but I can't find a picture of her at the moment.

Then there was Ginny, the hound mix puppy who was found as a stray.

Nickie the IG, barely a foster since we only had him for a weekend, but I'll include him anyway. We found him on CL and convinced his owner to turn him over to IG rescue. Soon afterwards she was posting again looking for a poodle puppy  Very nice boy, though, and in a great home now.

Much love for this thread! <3

I've only had the chance to foster one dog, and I don't have any pictures of him. :( He was a young (8-10 months old) chocolate lab, boisterous but very sweet. He found a great home and his new owner calls him Repo. :D

Start out with the foster that had the biggest impact in my life. Angel, she was found tied to a tree, left to die. Skin and bones, sores all over her body and a cap to a silly string container shoved up her vagina. She also had a tumor on her rib that had to be removed. She ended up passing away in my care literally 2 days before she was going to be posted ready for adoption due to an error at the emergency vet clinic. The rescue she's from has an award named after her that they hand out to volunteers every year, I will never take mine off of my mantel.

Rest in peace sweet Angel.

I've had lots of puppies, these ones stick out though. A whole litter was given an age-inappropriate bordetella vaccine sub-q by the shelter they were pulled from and it caused abscesses at the site of the injections. Some were awful like this one, others weren't so bad. I had two out of the litter.

Beep was another medical issue puppy. 5 week old great dane puppy who was a breeder surrender due to a spiral fracture in her rear leg. Luckily, the fracture only had to be splinted for 6 weeks and no surgery was needed. Frustrating part? That stupid splint had to be changed constantly due to how fast this puppy grew.

I've had a bunch others, but these are the ones that stick out the most. Behavioral and medical cases are my specialty, so I would rarely get the normal dogs. :)

If there was any way we could have, this little munchkin wouldn't ever have made it to Michigan. Ryan RARELY falls for dogs enough to want them. When he asked if I thought we could do 3 in our apartment without getting caught I think my jaw hit the floor. And then there's the part where Frodo would have absolutely hated her.

Sassy (keeshond/sheltie/??? mix - daintiest little dog. I remember she hated the rain, wouldn't step in puddles, and growled to express just about every emotion)

Lindy (now Sadie) (aussie/??? - literally the perfect dog. Had I not taken her, she would have been brought back to the shelter and PTS at the next chance. She was adopted in a week.)

I received this email about 2 years ago, nearly 4 years after she'd been adopted:

Hi, Annie! I don't know if you still use this email address but if you do, I wanted to send you an update on Sadie (aka Lindy).
She is the best dog and we love her dearly. She goes to the groomer and stays for doggie daycare while she's there. She completed an obedience class after we first got her and while she still doesn't respond to recall very well she was the center of attention in her class.

She's getting older but still has some energy to play with her toys for about 5-10 minutes) Her favorites are the ducks, geese and pheasants with the honking squeakers inside. Most of the time though she's just enjoying her retirement. She has a dog couch that she loves, a cooling pad that helps with her achy joints (she has developed some arthritis but doesn't let it slow her down), and generally likes to lay wherever she can get the most dog hair on the floor. She's always up for a belly rub or a dog cookie.

She absolutely loves people including those at the vet's office and our families love us visiting just to see her.
She is a wonderful companion and we're so happy to have her.
Bentley (beagle - I honesty don't remember too much about him except that he was my last foster with my old dog before she passed away.)

Biscuit (lhasa apso - this guy was a matted mess. He was a sweetie, but I don't know much about where he ended up.)

Eadon (dachshund/terrier mix - funny puppy. He got carsick, but was otherwise perfect. He was my very first foster. I think I was 13.)

Shiner (terrier??? - funny little dog. I only had her overnight (a temp foster), but she was a problem child. She hated men and chansed my poor brother onto the counter. So far as I know, she has made big strides in her adoptive home, but I don't know much more than that).

Corey (lab/hound/??? - this guy was a puppy in a big body. He used to flip up the corner of the rug in our family room and chew on the carpet pad underneath. My mom wasn't too thrilled...)

Stud Muffin (Now Buddy) (hound mix - this little guy was my first foster for a new rescue group. He was too sweet, but I think I let him get a bit too attached because he used to shriek whenever I left the room.)

Update
I can't believe that Buddy has been with me for two years now. He still growls when he hears a doorbell on the tv (I don't have a doorbell, so he must have learned that doorbells equals visitors when he was quite young--it's so funny)

He's a very good dog. He did not grow to be very big as one lady at the rescue organization suggested--only 30 pounds! He is not a high energy dog (which for living in an apartment is a good thing). but still loves to play and chase things. He loves to chase after squirrels and thinks that one day he going to catch one.

I will send some recent pictures in a follow-up email. Soon, Buddy will be moving out of apartment life and into a house with a backyard to run around in. He's so excited!
Audrey and Maryland (now Audrey and Lucy)

Update on Audrey
Annie,
I am so glad you contacted us. We love our Audrey. She is a happy loving dog. We take her boating and she love to swim. Our cat Leo and her are fun, they seem to really love each other. She now sleeps with our son Ethan each night. I have attached some pictures. She is a little bigger, but not much. She is really to prefect size dog. She does get car sick, but she love to kiss you and lay in laps.
Evan (now Kobe)

Update
Hi Annie,

Kobe is doing very well and growing rapidly. He just finished his first obedience class and did very well considering he was the only puppy in there. He does very well with going out to places..., but still gets excited when he sees other dogs. He is scheduled to be neutered in September, at which time we will micro-chip him as well. Still an early riser, which works out with my schedule when I am home.

You are certainly more than welcome to come see him anytime, or take him out to Starbucks. Just let us know and we can plan it accordingly.
God bless my parents!!!

Dexter, a Pittie mix boy who was dropped off at work with mange and a gaping wound in his shoulder:

Bella, a puppymill Pug/Boston mix - she went to a Pug rescue:

Levi, a Basset Hound that we should have kept (but Dad didn't want 4 dogs). The people who transported him to the Basset rescue decided to adopt him before they even made it home:

Kiba, the BEST PITTIE EVER. He was also abandoned at work. His owner boarded him, then never picked him up. Had I been at a different point in my life, I would have kept him in a heartbeat. As it was, he was placed with a FANTASTIC family who still sends me updates:

Armani, a cute little Lab/Basset that was pulled from a kill shelter in OH - I temp fostered him for LOLIN:

Seabee (or Lucy), a GSP/Lab mix that my sister dumped on me. I toyed with the idea of keeping her, but she SCREAMED in her crate and I didn't have the time to crate train her (and my landlord was getting PISSED) - I also still get updates on her from her new family:

Medea, a super sweet kitty that was saved from euthanasia after the owner adopted another kitten:

Cloud Strife Nathaniel (aka, Boomer), a bottle baby:

Willie, my one eyed FIV+ kitty:

I love this thread! It makes me miss my old job. :( I loved looking through my photos to find these pics. I started working at the shelter in Jan 2010.

My first fosters were two six week old kittens. The shelter named them Kyo and Zenna but I called them Trouble (sometimes Nemo because he had one ear smaller than the other) and Mischief.

My Scarlett. <3 Words cannot describe the way I felt about this dog. The moment I saw her, there was an instant connection. I've not felt that before or since. She was my dream dog. I only fostered her for a weekend and I wish a million times that I could have adopted her. She was something special. I still have her collar. It's hanging on the wall with DJ's and Kaiser's. She was my dog. Scarlett had a handful of other problems. She came into the shelter almost completely bald. She liked to play tug with her leash and missed one day. That particular staff member didn't like her and said she bit her on purpose. I disagree. But I think euthanizing her was the best thing for her. Ultimately, the shelter environment took its toll on her.

Grace was found in a ditch next to her dead brother. I didn't plan on taking her home but she was having issues walking and I couldn't leave her in a kennel. At one point, she couldn't even stand without falling over right away. A family friend met her and ended up adopting her. I still see her from time to time.
First night home.

About 6 months old.

The Fluffy Dog! I fostered him while his eye removal site was healing. He was a pretty cool dog. I wanted to adopt him. My aunt said he had too much hair. Look what kind of dogs we have now. lol Oddly, his new family named him Eight-Ball. I think it's a weird name, but whatever.

I had this little monster for a while. I rode out a snow/ice storm together. I called him Snoopy as he was from the S litter. He was born on Christmas Day 2010, half German Shepherd, half Labrador Retriever. One of his littermates was returned to the shelter when they were older and I completely believe that mix.

Pip's mother died when he was a week old. He was from a litter of 14 and only 4 survived. We split the last four up and I got Pip, now known as Max. Here's a little timeline of his stay with me.

He was about 5 months old in these.
