Oh, no possiblility of splinters from the table top itself. That's sanded down smooth and fine. I finished it off with 1500 grit sandpaper.

The legs, on the other hand...

Is it embarrassing that I knew the answer to Zoom's question before you posted this?

Never played, but have given up half my kitchen for an epic 3 week long battle.
Also, I have a thing for nerds ;)

p.s. incredible job! I am envious of your woodworking skills...
Also... what's you number?

Maybe I'm just too old fashioned but you'd have to be trying some weird **** for the legs to be a problem.

Or well...hrm...guess she needs something to grab onto.

lmao, this is the third thread I've read today that got dirty. You all need to get laid or something! Especially HoundedByHounds, she seems to start it.

And to further my project, I decided that I didn't want my friends to be setting drinks down on the table and having them leave rings on the table... so I went out to Michael's and bought some pine wood disks. I just applied the first coat of stain to those :) I'm making them the same color as the eagle, so they should match the table quite nicely. I'm thinking I'll put two coats of color (I should be able to put the 2nd on tonight) and two or three coats of clear coat on top of that... then put some felt feet on the bottom so they don't scratch the table.

Psssshhht. You have a bunch of nerds sitting around a table, eating pizza, drinking mountain dew, and you expect them to use coasters? Coasters are just impromptu weapons (1d4 damage...god I'm a dork) to be thrown at the DM (or whatever the warhammer equivalent is).

When warhammer is being played, nothing else is on the table, as the table IS the playing surface. Drinks are the most the players will allow, mainly because they don't take up that much room, and the players are the ones using said drinks.

We play DnD on the other side of the room... that will have the pizza and mountain dew. But we don't have a table over there (Yet!) to put things on... for that table I'll be doing probably 2-3 coats of stain, and at LEAST 4 of clear coat. I might look into using lacquer, or getting a large piece of glass to lay on top and build into it.

You can't play D&D and warhammer on the same table? I don't know anything about warhammer, but that table looked big enough for a battle mat... and some PHBs and other manuals, plenty of dice, pizza, and beer. But I suppose you might want a table painted with the D&D logo or something. And if you have a lot of players, then the table should probably be bigger. But I can't really tell the size of the table from the pictures.

The table is 4'x6'... and seeing as we usually have 7 people for dnd, all with laptops and all wanting a comfy place to sit with space for food, drink, and dice, that table just isn't nearly big enough.

Laptops? That's an idea. I wish I'd thought of that. Would've been so much easier than carrying all the books with me.

But I don't think I owned a laptop back when I played lol.

DnD, srs busines.

Only when I can't use my dice, or I need to roll an obscene amount... I've played games where I needed to roll something like 20d6... that's where a program that rolls and sums for you comes in handy.

As does when making attributes, as that's part of the character creation script I made. just type 'attributes' in matlab, and you've got your 6 with the listed bonuses. :D

Well the problem I have with the computer generated dice roller is that it doesn't seem as random... I don't know much about computer programs, that's just how it seems to me. Either you roll REALLY well or REALLY poorly... there doesn't seem to be much in-between. But then, when I roll attributes... er, I mean, when uh, nerdy boys that I know roll attributes, er, they want them to be super awesome, so I guess, er, they would want the computer one :)

Also, don't you have at least 50 D6's?? It's not THAT hard to add them up :p
