The vet doesn't think she's suffering and neither do I. He said she has an amazing pain threshold though and after sticking needles in her several times a day I have to say I agree.
What would they give for nauseus and is there anything I can pick up myself? His office in town isn't open til wednesday but I could make a trip out to the neighbouring town if I have to. I was just thinking maybe there is something we take that dogs can have?
i would seriously consider getting a second opinion. WHY hasnt your dog that has been continually vomiting been placed on antacids and anti-emetics (to stop the vomiting?).
ANd she is peeing so he said stop the sq fluids? the peeing is because her kidneys are shot and she cannot concentrate her urine - if she is in acute v. chronic renal failure, there is a chance she may regain that function, but she NEEDS the fluids to flush the toxins out of her system. yes, it sucks she pees a lot, but decreasing the fluids isn't the answer.
youre vet is REALLY behind on the times - ive dealt with numerous animals in renal failure and have had 1 myself of my own - not giving her something to make her FEEL better is ridiculous - she is nauseous because the toxins built up in her system make her feel like crap, since her kidneys cannot clear them out.
what has her bloodwork shown?
