You guys can completely ignore this but I decided to keep a journal of exactly what Sakari is doing mostly for me but for anyone who has feedback or input. It'll help me keep track of what she's doing. She's supposed to get about 5 tbsp of the nutrical a day

So starting from this evening:

4:50 p.m. she pees

5 p.m. 1000mL of subq fluids and 1.5 tbsp nutrical

5:50 gives me a big smile

6 p.m. 1.5 tbsp nutrical and a small drink of water

no vomiting yet

7 p.m. 1 tbsp of nutrical in her mouth and one on her paws - two total. Noted that she had finished her 1/4 cup of water so she got another 1/4 she's quite perky. I'm going to feed Fiona and then take Sakari for a pee break.

8 p.m. quick walk. She peed. It was clear. She trotted a bit when she saw sylvester on the road and wanted to go back out into the yard but I brought her in and gave her another tbsp of nutrical and soem water. She ate and drank both. The water was about another 1/4 c.

I think that's about all the nutrical she needs for today so I'm going to try to get some of the canned stuff into her next time I give her some food.

10 I gave her about 2 tsps of canned food on her paws. She licked it and even licked a bit off my fingers for the first time! BUT she doesn't like it as much as the nutrical. And it's not sticky so it's hard to keep on her paws. Sometimes she just shakes it off so I wet it a bit and mooshed it into her fur and she's been licking it off.

Just checked on her and she finished licking it off and was having some more water. I'm leaving in about half an hour to pick up steve so I'll take her out for a pee and then when I get back I'll try to get her to eat the rest of the can.

I put her out in the yard for a bit and she was good. I dont think she threw up but I wasn't watchign her the whole time. I did get the rest of the half can into her so yay! I think she's getting tired of me rubbing food on her feet but oh well. She's still eating it.

So today she had 5 Tbsp of nutrical and half a small can of canned food.

Tomorrow's goal is 5 Tbsps of nutrical (at least) and a whole small can of food.

Any thought on whether this would be a good product? http://www.askariel.com/product_details.asp?itemid=enzymes or too good to be true?

Also, I was thinking about giving her some marmite for b vitamins. Anyone ever tried that with their dog? I know b vitamins can stimulate appetite and boost energy levels. I have nutritional yeast too but I doubt I can get her to eat it.

This journal is a great idea. It will give everyone a clear picture of what is going on. I think at this point, getting her to ingest more calories in a proactive way is a good thing. I know it's a risk, but I do think finding a way to stimulate the appetite is critical right now. If she is active, we don't want her burning more than she's taking in right now, right?

I'm going to try to get her to eat half a can (small) of the recovery formula the vet gave me tonight. And a full can (small) plus the nutrical tomorrow.

Thanks :)

Well, I was up with the baby at 6 a.m. so I took her out for a pee and gave her a tbsp of nutrical and then put her back in the crate and went back to bed myself. I didn't get up til 10:30 and now I'm rushing around cuz I have to take steve to work so I'll give her her fluids and more food when I get back. Last night she drank about half a cup of water. No signs she had thrown up in her crate.

Ok I havne't been keeping very good track today. Sakari was out most of the morning. She had her fluids but looks a little weak today. I've got about 3 tbsps of nutrical in her now (it goes quickly!) and I'm working on the canned now. Hopefully that perks her up. She's getting a bit miffed at me wiping food on her feet. Well if she'd just eat it I wouldn't have to!!!

I got 3/4 of the can in her today. I was going to give her more but she came in from outside and threw up grass. I don't know why. She's never done this before. I was reading online that it could be because of ulcers? I'm going to ask my vet. Anyway, I just gave her some more nutrical and the rest of her fluids. She's not looking very good tonight :(

Gosh, she's absolutely stunning! Is the last pic the most recent one? What a good looking girl :)

No those are mostly baby pics. I'll upload ones of her a couple months ago playing at the park. I can take some today too but she looks sick :(

Here's one of her playing at the park. She's so good with kids. A bit timid but it makes her move nice and slow and she sure loves them. I have a few more from that day but they are still uploading.

got her fluids into her. i'm doing the whole bag again becuz its so hot. also i found its really easy to feed baby food so i got one small jar into her so far and will do another later. its watered down so hopefully that helps hydrate her. i've made my own now.

1 tbsp nutrical so far today

i'm not sure about her mental state. She seems a bit depressed but I'm not srue if that's just because every time I go over I'm trying to get her to eat. I'll take her for a short walk when it cools off and see how she is.

Yeah it's me she's mad at. But I got another small jar of baby food in her. And two more tablespoons of nutrical of course. It seems to me that she doesn't throw up anymore EXCEPT when she eats grass which she seems to be doing a lot. I don't think that's a good thing.

And she got her fluids of course.
