Reggin + smoke bomb. PICS!

Reggin decided to go after a smoke bomb my fiance had. We kept him at a safe distance though. He wouldn't think twice about bitting it, resulting in burns. It must be his terrier side. That doesn't surprise me since he has burnt his tongue on the oven and heater by sticking his tongue right in it. Good thing hes a fast learner.

The pics are so funny.

Checking it out.

Trying to get closer.

Taking off towards it.

And up he goes! Chomping at the smoke.

Waiting for the next bomb.

Just enjoying a day outside.

Thats all!

Thats hilarious. I never thought dogs could be a fire hazard. :rofl1:

Some dogs just have to learn the hard way. ;)

lol. Well, I know it must be pretty unpleasant since it makes him have sneezing fits, but he still insists in trying to grab the smoke with his mouth.

Cute pics.

You're brave letting him out w/o collar and/or tags in a situation like that ;)

My dog actually listens to me unlike some owners I know. I know my dog better than anyone, including you. ;)

And about the collar thing... they irritate his skin. BADLY.

On a side note. I actually don't consider myself brave at all.

Eeeks. I tend to do that if I feel rubbed the wrong way. I am assuming she just doesn't want anything bad to happen. Which is understandable...

Ah, yes. But seeing him with Madison makes you believe nothing would ever happen. Although I've read that all pit bulls enjoy fighting [written by a pit bull breeder in the book THE WORKING PIT BULL by Diane Jessup]..also understandable judging by their past. It's hard to believe when it comes to Reggin!!m :D

Well, the thing with Reggin is that he is a very good listener. In the year we have been living here, he has NEVER taken off on us. Its when he is on a leash that I might have a slight problem with him ignoring me since he is too excited about going for a walk and leaving the premises, lol. Off the leash, he stays very close.

With my min pin, I definitely would be brave letting her outside the gate. She DOES listen, just not good enough for something like that.

All dogs are different, just like different people have different opinions. I know my dogs to a T.

The bottom line is that my purpose with this thread was just to post cute pics!!!

Great pics as usual. I was wondering about the lack of at least a collar, too, but I'm super-paranoid about intact dogs being off-leash, lol. Then again I often forget other dogs have better recall than mine. LOL (I think I will steal Gemp's phrasing... "the recall of a lima bean," through no fault of his own, of course.)

Have you tried leather? A nice, soft, buttery leather collar or something lined with a soft material hopefully wouldn't aggravate his neck. Chewbecca has problems with Ella's neck, too, maybe asking her for some suggestions might help.

I've never tried leather. With every collar I have gotten, he scratches his neck to the point where it becomes bloody raw. It irritates his skin to no end. So aggravating, because I go out and buy one, and then I cant even use it. Leather sounds like a good idea. I dont recall the local pet store having any. I'm sure I could find one on the internet though.

I hardly ever let him ouside the gate, but the look on peoples faces is priceless when they see that a pit bull actually listens to my commands. lol. It gives him more room to play with a smoke bomb, for example, lol.

No need to get defensive like that :)

I think it is.. brave. If nothing else, my dog has a great recall, too... I would still be paranoid about having her off leash in a street without a collar on while playing around with a smoke bomb. But that is just me :)
I know that you know your dog better than I do and everyone else... well, it is good to know that you also know that there would never be another female in heat roaming the street and you can foresee his reaction to the smoke bomb to a t. :)
It is not only about knowing your dog... it is about not putting your dog in a possible bad situation. But I didn't mean to derail your thread like that, it just made me wonder.

Oh... I saw some really, really soft hemp collars.... I'll go find the link to them, maybe he'll like them.

Reggin reminds me of a dog I had the pleasure of meeting on the fourth of July. She's a lab/pit mix it is thought. Her owners let her back outside because they thought their friends were done setting off fireworks, but one more was being set off, one of those tower types with all the bright lights. The dog went after it barking and snarling and baring teeth. She didn't actually try to bite it, thankfully. She sure didn't like those fireworks!

I think most animals have an instinct to stay away from fire itself. Once my Maryland friends had a bonefire on the river for new years, and they had their lab mix with them. She stayed well away from the fire. Stupid thing wanted to go swimming in the ice cold river on a 40 degree night though
