Hey everyone! First post here! ^^
I have a question about my 2 year old Siberian Husky. I don't know much about dogs and only recently have I met Max (a month or so). It's about his general wellbeing, and they are as follows:
1) When I go to sleep at around 10-11 PM, I would take Max outside. The temperature in New Zealand at night is usually 11-20ish Celsius degrees. I have a kennel outside too. There is no grass though, bark only with a few trees. He looks extremely sad when I take him outside, and he often hides somewhere at around 9-10 PM. My question is: should I keep him inside at night instead of outside? He sometimes sorta' howls in the middle of the night: is this serious or do dogs genearlly howl? Would he be in emotional pain if I kept him outside at night? Sorry for such bland questions. =/
2) I often just keep food outside for him that would last for an entire day. Usually consists of corn beef mixed with doggy biscuits and the like. Is this healthy to keep it outside like this the whole day? Or should I have set meal times?
3) He is a Siberian Husky. Do I walk him enough? I walk him generally 2 times a week. I keep on a leash tho incase he runs off. Since I've only recently met Max, when I call for him he doesn't respond, so I have to keep him on a leash when on walks. Is it detrimental for his health if he can't run around without a leash often? The backyard is a small area too, and he can't really run around in it. Ultimately, HOW MUCH exercise does a Siberian Husky generally need?
4) When I eat, Max often just sits beside me with those puppy-dog eyes. Should I give him some of what I'm eating or is this just the norm for all dogs? Am I just feeding him too little since he seems to be ALWAYS after what I eat?
I still have heaps of questions. I don't really know where to turn. Any feedback would be appreciated! Thanks dog-lovers! ^^
