They make little 'mmm nnn' sounds but squealing could mean they're too hot, mom's milk is bad (causing upset stomach), or they're uncomfortable for some reason. Check the temperature first then go from there ... (they will squeal when she cleans them or moves them though).

Sounds like you are on top of things . I would suggest though to get a copy of " How to raise a puppy you can live with " Very cheap at Amazon and will answer any questions week by week . You've done so well so far , so why not do the best ! Bless you !

The great news is that if they survive we already have a home lined up for one :D.

My mum hasn't even seen them yet and she is (encouraged by me) talking about new homes. weaning and socialisation.

We are determined that they are going to get the best start in life possible.

And who knows there might even be a home for the bitch here as well. lol

And grammy that means a lot coming from a good breeder like you. At least we know we are doing the right thing and I always know where to come when I have questions. :)

I do my best as it was my passion that every single pup had the best start possible . I really wasn't a " breeder " but over 40 years all litters ( either mine or those studded ) were wonderful pups !

Good luck with the litter and mom! I'm glad your family is helping you do the right thing by giving them a home and not letting them die or starve in the cold. You'll find tons of support here and helpful tips about raising the pups.

(And by 7 I'll toss in some no more puppy vibes for you!)

Is there a local TV or newspaper where they could get some press and maybe you could get some help? I know here in the US, the 'bleeding heart' stories bring in offers of help and money from all over. An abandoned Lab mom in the cold giving birth to 7 puppies in a good samaritan's home should melt some hearts!~

I hope that this is all for you ! Sure glad that you were there from the start ! She was led to the right home , bless her heart ! I'd watch for lost ads , but don't place found ads or these pups will be dumped like their mother !

Good luck Ryan! You're going to have your hands full - I get stressed with just one, lol.

Post pictures if you can. :)

Right well all 7 have survived the first night which is a good sign. An even better sign is that she has not had any more puppies :D .

They are all looking strong and healthy and they are all feeding strongly

ETA I will take pics as soon as I can be sure the mum won't get freaked out :)

Although she is such a sweet bitch it is difficult to remember to treat her with caution :)

She's probably so happy for the help!! I know my girls were always glad that we were there to help. They probably could have done it alone, but I just couldn't let them do it! ;)
