This killed me to look at, and I didn't even make it halfway through. I actually recommend you NOT to look at them, but it is in fact a reality of what happened, and if it touches more people to make more donations then I guess good can come of it, but I break out in tears everytime I see this stuff. I got about to the fourth picture and felt like I was going to puke so I had to stop looking at it. If you will be disturbed by it, then please do not look at it. I don't even know how bad it gets because I didn't look past the fourth or fifth picture. I wish I could take them all in and give them a safe place to live with food and shelter and water.

I was able to look through the rest of it, and just the one pic is really bad, while the others are sad, but they are being helped.

My heart goes out to those men and women who helped in the rescue of our furry friends. The animals now have a chance to either be reunited with their families or be adopted by another family. Thank you!!!!!

Yes good luck. We had 43 dogs and 66 cats arrive in Utah yesterday from shelters that they had been in since the hurricane and they are all ready for adoption. Petsmart is holding its adoption open house so to speak this weekend for the pets of hurricane Katrina. Many blessings for those who are going to open their hearts and homes to these animals. It was reported today in the paper that also 143 families have decided to stay in Utah and have been approved to move into apts and homes that landlords have opened up. Several employers here have also hired alot of people, temp positions mind you but could turn into full time perm. positions. I am just so happy to hear how many agencies and people who have donated their time and efforts to help the 2 legged and 4 legged family members.

Look

Animal shelter volunteer Sharon Spann plays with a ShiTzu puppy, Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2005, in the Hurricane Katrina Emergency Animal Shelter at Louisiana State University's John M. Parker Coliseum in Baton Rouge, La. As of Wednesday, the shelter was housing over 1,000 companion animals, including 641 dogs, 391 cats, and assorted pigs, rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, hamsters, gerbils, mice, tortoises, and birds. Since the shelter opened during the days following the hurricane, almost 300 pets have already been reunited with their owners although the number of admissions is still surpassing the number of discharged animals.

Me 2. That one was really sad. But, the one with the guy crying because they found his dog was great. I wish I was able to go down there. But I can't live without any money, which I already have none of. I wish there was something I could arrange to go down there and bathe the animals that are so cruddy from being stuck in mud and junk. I don't know...

Well the pictures of the dogs getting hugged by their owners made me cry.. I couldn't bare to have that happen with Riot!

THe one picture of the shelter where the dogs were, it looked like two of the dogs had hung themselves.. :(

I'm in tears... both sad and joy with those that lost and those that got rescued and even better, reunited. I hope this catastrophe will raise the awareness of the need to rescue, not breed...

WOW that was very unhappy. I have some comments on a couple of pics.
#5 was very very very disgusting in my eyes. I saw thos edogs hanging there and I almost broke down, it was very horrible.
#10 and 26 when I looked at those 2 pics I saw hope. B/c the dogs returned to there owners adn where happy to see them. I saw those 2 men crying while holding there dogs and I almost did to, I hate to see men cry anyways and I was crying w/ them.

Ok i personally think it was stupid for those animal shelters to leave their animals at the shelters and they where suppose to be taking care of them!! It just gets me on how they could leave them
Now I'm very happy for the owners who reuntied w/ their pets and when I saw the horse picture I was so happy. Even though a horse is a big animal they still saved his life and where able to help him.
I know some of this was mena but this is my opinion.
