Yesterday I picked up Phoebe, the ACD that I adopted. She's getting along pretty well, leaving the cats alone and adjusting. I'm 90% sure she was beaten at some point in her life b/c she cringes and backs away from any object lifted near her. Sticks, cat wand, tennis ball tossed to her, rope toy...everything is scary. She's also extremely clingy and needy, something I'm not used to (it's kind of annoying actually). She wants to be right here all the time. When I am home I make her spend some alone time (10-15 min) in the kitchen. I guess I don't mind the fact that she wants to be near me, just the fact that she absolutely can't cope by herself. Once she's more used to alone time and the cats have adjusted it'll be a lot easier. Less whining and more fun!

Here's a pic of Princess Phoebe Conseulla Bananahammock...

Awwww, poor baby! So glad you adopted this sweet girl!
I'm sure she will adjust in time. Though, ACDs are people dogs so it isn't unusual for her to be a little clingy.
She is stunning! :)

Oh I was wondering where you were. ACDs are known as velcro dogs. She more likely then not always be at your side.
Whiskey follows me no matter where I go. Litterly I am his watch. It is his job to monitor my every movemnt as he would any herding job.
If one knows anything about ACD that is what they do stick to you like glue. I am glad she is taking so well to you that in itself shows great promise.
