Nice. I love the way you two work together. You remind me of me how you talk to her playfully...and your voice too. LOL. Great team.

I'm so glad you finally got some video of her up! That was awesome. I'm sending Raja to you, okay? So, expect a furry package to arrive soon. :D

That was so fascinating to watch! I'll be showing it to my hubby; he loves to hear all about Penny & her pups.

What are you using as treats when you train?

Barb, i# this clip I'm usi#g ti#y bits of hotdog. (It SUCKS to have keys that do#'t work o# your board)

I try to vary what I use to help preve#t boredom.

I am happy to announce that my recalcitrant keyboard today has all the keys working. haha

Barb, I also use at different times string cheese, hard sausages like summer sausage, etc, left over table meats, sometimes tiny dog biscuits, etc.

For the performance I am looking for, enthusiasm on the part of the dog is so important. So bait, and toys, and play, and keeping it lots of fun, and interesting, is a large part of it.

You might notice in most of my clips that I don't have collar or leash on my dogs. I like to keep training fun so that they really WANT to work with me. This works pretty well, I have to put all other dogs away, because if I start working one, they ALL want to join with me and work to see what they can get.

:D

Exactly what I'm always trying to say when I get into debates with people who use a lot of collar corrections and seriousness. You just end up with a much more lively, spritely, cheery dog while doing his thing when you do what you did on that video. I don't even show because it's not my thing but I still want a dog who is super enthusiastic and "into" it. I think you get a much better performance all around.

I did the same thing with Lyric...most of the time I didn't even use a collar or leash when working on getting his heeling good or anything. The only time we used a collar or leash was when we had to...LOL, like on a road. The rest of the time he went naked. I don't believe in using a leash to correct, direct or steer the dog. It's just there for safety IMO.

I don't work with the Chi's all that much, but there's no need for a leash when on my own property. They just fall right into walking nicely with me if they want what's good for them. LOL. Then when I do put a leash on them, they already get the picture to walk nicely. They're so cute, have good manners and basics pretty good. But I really should do more with them. But it's so hard to bend over all the time. Rfffffff. They're mostly just pests. I mean...pets. Tee hee hee.

Anyhow, loved your video and love how you two work together.

Glad your keyboard is working!
