Nothing at the moment :p. I already have birds, cats, and fish. No larger parrots anymore, they intimidate me. I am probably going to get another Ringneck Dove or fancy pigeon in time, but not this year. I wouldn't own furry pocket pets anymore. I've contemplated the idea of a nice Crested Gecko setup, or leopard geckos, or dart frogs, or something like that...but I just don't have the desire to maintain them.

I would have a horse except I won't have a horse I need to board. My own property or nothing. I would lease a horse except time right now :p.

I would have sheep and chickens if I lived on a better property for it.

Hedgehogs, but the poopy wheels. Ew.

I will have ferrets again, but I have to wait until we move.

A rabbit, but I don't want a pocket pet that needs floor time if I have ferrets.

A cat, but I don't want to scoop a litter box and Mike is allergic. So when I get a cat, it will have to be in a position where the cat can safely be an indoor/outdoor cat.

And honestly, that's about it. My perfect household would be two or three dogs, two outdoor/indoor cats, two ferrets, and a dwarf hamster. Plus farm animals (really want beef cows).

I always think I'd like some kind of caged fuzzy animal again one day... ferret, guinea pig, bunny, etc... butttt then I remember how annoying it was when we had our two guinea pigs. Cleaning cages is NOT my forte. And my guinea pigs ended up being super lame and didn't like being picked up/played with anyway. lol. Also, I have a terrier. And am not sure it would be worth it keeping them locked away from each other and having Jackson go nutso all the time.

I sometimes think I want a cat. But again, litter boxes. Ew. And honestly I find them more trouble than dogs in some ways. My good friend has two awesome Tonkanese cats who I LOVE but they're so crazy. They're just always chewing things left out, jumping on top of the counters and the appliances and everything else. The one cat is also on prozac. LOL.. they seem more high maintenance than my dog. I just can't decide on the cat thing.

Otherwise, no, I have no desire to own any type of reptile, or anything of the sorts, or birds. Fish are just mehh. I'd never be really into them. We have a Betta fish now and a Goldfish but I don't take care of them.

I want chickens too! We need to have 10 acres here, and I only own 9.3 or something. I have seen chickens around, and almost nobody owns 10 acres (it's too suburban for that) so I think you can get a variance from the town pretty easily, but I'd have to not be lazy and figure out how that works.
Only need 2 here. Of course we own 1.3....

Where did you find that out? I only found one source for the 10 acres and I don't know if I can trust it. There are chickens wandering around Rte 376 all the time and nobody on that road has more than 1/2 acre.

It seemed like they included chickens as any livestock, which is why the acreage was so high. Obviously chickens don't need the same type of space as cows and sheep.

I just search "Town Name, NY livestock zoning law" and then use ecode360. The town website takes me to the same link, it's just quicker using google, instead of googling the town website, then clicking on the laws button and then searching. Where we ware they have 2 different acerage requirements depending on the livestock. It's 3 for "large hooved animals" and 2 for, basically everything else.

Horses, well, ponies.. rode for 16yrs. (and owned 7 along the way) and still miss it everyday! But.. mortgage.

Rats, had them for years in middle/high school but they're "heart break" pets.. they don't live long enough. And holy expensive if they get sick (and they almost always do).

Anyone that wants a cat can come take Sneak.. he's a pain in the ass, but he's pretty..

Oh I'd also like chickens and will some day!! That's definite. No space requirements here, they're becoming quite popular in the suburbs too! People own two or three in their garden!

I'd love goats and/or pigs :) but no space or time.

LOL, well the other issues are that 1) I have nowhere to put a tank right now, even a small one, and 2) Ryan asks that I only have one non-dog animal (or type) at a time. Right now I have the rats. I want a snake more than I want fish next.

Horses, except they scare me. I used to ride my grandparent's horses, but still... they scare me. Unless I could get the exact replica of Tulip (Arabian) or Charley (paint) without their... issues... then perhaps I would own a horse or two.

Cats, except I'm just really not that into cats. I like the idea of them, but meh.

....That wasn't a very exciting list. I'd pretty much own any other animal I want, it's just a question of space and cash, which I can work with.

Sheep except for no herding dog. Lol

I forgot about sheep! I love sheep. I guess I do have the space, but I'm not ready for the commitment of livestock animals.

I just realized I forgot rabbits!

Rabbits, except Siri.

Since Ryan doesn't want to live with cats, I told him someday I want two free-range bunnies to take their place :D Obviously this would require the right dog, so NOT Siri.

- Cat: it's frowned upon to have indoor/outdoor cats and I cannot stand litter boxes (smell.)
- Ferret: health problems
- Fish: they die all the time.
- Parrot. I've gone back/forth in my head over this..but the biggest reason honestly, beyond the noise/interaction... it's the guilt. Intelligence guilt.Cage guilt. Flight guilt. Time guilt. Natural bird family group guilt just...guilt.
We have a cockatoo now and the guilt is STRONG, even though we love him.

*edit: I have found this to be true, much more when it comes to large parrots. I might consider a small bird one day, like a pair of budgies.
