I've been keeping this a bit on the down low because I'm hyper sensitive to people's opinions and ah... there's some people out there who are going to think I'm an idiot for various reasons.

Apologies that this is the only picture I have right now...

She's 7 months old, her breeder had kept her to show and then decided that her sister would be more beneficial so... here we are! She sort of fell into my lap when I emailed her breeder about a wait list 6 months to a year from now... didn't really know I'd be going to visit a 7 month puppy that day heh.

Ears done and standing, crate trained, housebroken, shots, leash trained... She has two shows coming up that he'd already registered her for. One next weekend and I'll pick her up and take her home after, and one at the end of September.

Please don't tell me I'm an idiot

She's lovely :) I agree, she's going to stand out with your other two lovlies with all that brindle but who could resist another love giant! Good luck :D And I second the question, what is her name?

ETA: Looking at your signature it seems her name is Nel!

Her Reg'd name is Glacierdanes Downhill Racer, and they call her Lindsay (after Lindsay Vonn) since it was an Olympic themed litter... but I don't like the name Lindsay for a dog so I'll be renaming her Nel.

Nel was hubby's pick since he didn't get an opinion on, or get to name, either of the other two. And no she definitely does not fit my color scheme haha, it might take some getting used to.

I'll get more pictures at her show next weekend, until then I don't have any really, just crappy iPhone ones :(

Congrats! She is beautiful! Do you really expect any of us to think you are an idiot for snapping that beauty up? Silly woman! hahaha

Reminds me of when I was a kid, the neighbors behind us had a female named Freeda who looked just like Nel! She didn't like us climbing the fence to cut through the yard, ROFL, and would chase us out of there with her huge bark........never a snarl or bite though, we were very stupid kids! hahaha

Ooooh, she's so cute! I love brindle. Congrats though, sounds like everything fell into place even if you didn't plan for it to be that way

I also really like the name Nel

Good choice :) Lindsay has some pretty awful connotations, lol
I resent that! Unless it's only if you spell it with an A, then it's ok

Ooh Renee I didn't even think of that lol. I like the name Lindsay, just not for a dog :p

Long story short we were set up for another white deaf baby (8 weeks). It fell through last minute and feeling sorry for myself I called up her breeder (who I've known a while) to see what his Harley litter plans were... and ended up with a Brindle. Sometimes life is just funny.

Me with a dark Dane? Weeeiiiird...

Aweeee! <3

She is such a pretty dog! I always think Danes look the noblest of all dog breeds, whether they act like it or not....

Hahah... Thanks everyone :)

They uh... don't usually act like it, no. Especially not my two white ones. Nel's breeder commented on that briefly when I was telling him how mellow Nel was for a 7M puppy...

"You know, I've always kind of thought that Harlequins and Mantles have a screw loose."

Apparently I'm not alone. Hopefully Nel and her calm and dignified manner will rub off on the other two... because God help me if it's the other way around

@Zoom Aw they're gonna be kind of far apart in age :( but hey as long as everyone loves the snow I can think of a few really cool places to take them :p I love the Brindle... I'm just so, so not used to it!

I certainly have a thing for brindle, so I think you made an awesome choice! I can't wait to meet her!

Its kinda funny that we have always gotten our next Danes within about 6 months of each other...you remember when Cheza and Bailey were little???

I can't wait either... next weekend seems so far away!

Here's one more not so great picture of her...

Yeah they were pretty much the same size and only a few weeks apart, pretty much perfect age :p

I'm a little sad I won't have a roly-poly snausage but an older dog is a better fit for us anyway right now
