I had an idea that I could have a online dog show. Here's how it would work.
Anybody that wanted to participate in the show would send me a PM containing the fallowing:

you and your dogs name,

his or her breed,

and pics of front, hind, lift and right sides so I can juge them acording to the AKC standerd. The award would be a printable certifacate!:D

There would also be the cuteist face award for mixed breeds that enter:)
would anyone want to do this?

Sure, sounds like it'd be fun. I don't have a shot of Dakota's rear though. . .

hey I'm in...I have the benefit of a professional photographer! I'm sure she'll want to throw a couple shotsof her own dog out, too...

You should add a "Dorkiest Dog" catagory...makenie's a shoe-in...

I really can't post pictures ! I am no judge of other breeds and wouldn't want to put down some dogs. I think it would be fun for " mutts " ... but not pure breds. Let's face it ... some pure breds are adopted ... some bought for mega bucks. I don't think this forum should be a " my dog is better than your dog " ....we're here as owners ... not pitting our dogs against other dogs ! sorry if Grammy is out of line .

If you dont want to have your dog juged then you dont have to enter. It's a fun thing, I dont think anyone is thinking if they win, their dog is better than everyone elses.

It's only one person's opinion.

I think we all know that its not looks that are important

Always keeping things fair and equal hehe

its just for fun :) No harm done, as long as its not negative comments lol constructive criticism.
I already know all of Riots fault.. long in his back, his rear is slightly higher then his whithers and his front legs swing easty/westy.. yet hes still a stunning pup :)

Does it have to have the requirements for AKC? Like I dont think my beagle could be in an AKC show cuz her colors on her face arent split right, or I could not know at all what Im talking about...

How's this for an idea:

For those of you who can present video, a certain routine will be selected, a time limit given and two methods will be used (one using verbal commands, other using silent hand signals/gestures). A points system will be utilyzed similar to the following:

Faster than alloted time: 10 points
5 seconds of time: 7pts
10 seconds of time: 5pts
15 seconds of time: 3pts
Completion of routine: 1pt

Each command: 5pts
Partial action on command: 3pts
Attempt at command: 1pt

"Jumping the gun": -3pts
Speaking instead of gesture/vice versa: -3pts

...and so on...

Most points wins...it could be cool.

We don't allow blanket requests for PM's from members :(
You can post them here though as we don't allow blanket requests for photos either. I know you have great intentions, but it just opens the door for huge abuse issues if I allowed that.

It means you can't ask multiple members to PM you in a post. It also means that you can't ask for members to give you pictures either. You should have a web site with a statement of use and a privacy statement at the very least before you start obtaining any type of property or information from peopole online and then place it in the Dog Sites Forum. If you don't have a site then there is the Pet Classified section.

I can offer webspace...and a generic privacy statement...if that'd help...or it could be done through PacNet (mine and Zoe's site) if you'd like to avoid being liable and wouldn't mind the cross-posting type thing.

It just seems like a fun idea...me and zoe would like to help if we can.
