Anna, you are correct. Border Collies are a very, very active breed. They have an almost frantic, intense energy about them and most need a job of some sort to do. Currently he's too young to really work hard in agility but we've started training. His job around the house is just to help me out, if I drop something I ask him to pick it up for me, if I need something I ask him to find it and bring it to me. (Handy if I ever lose my cellphone) I have to be downright lazy sometimes in order to keep him occupied. We walk a couple of miles a day, and he gets a run around the backyard 3-4 times a day during his potty breaks. It's really not bad, keeping him busy and happy isn't hard for me to do.
Smkie, aww thank you
I love his coat, it is so incredibly soft and silky but it's tough and rugged at the same time. I don't have a ton of pictures of him after he's been bathed and blowdried, but he looks absolutely amazing when he's just been cleaned. I recently did cut his hair on his belly and forelegs just because he tends to get that long hair caught on things and it's more of a burden to him as a working dog.
