I received a new camera at my high school graduation, and I've taken a few photos as I test it out. Still getting used to the slightly different layout compared to the one I used to use before. It's a full HD digital Panasonic Lumix with a built-in 24mm-wide lens. It takes some pretty decent shots, especially close-ups. I'm still trying to figure out the best way to minimize noise, and the right ISO for action shots.
Nina-wise: she's growing up so much. She'll be 21 months next week on the 5th. It's hard for me to believe I've had her this long - twice as old as she was when I first met her, riding out her crazy adolescence. I'm catching more and more glimpses of the dog she'll mature into between 2 and 3 years. She's much more measured, seems to really think, and I don't know, she's just very solid and more confident these days. Her reactivity training has progressed to the point that for the first time we walked across the street from another dog with her watching but not reacting at all. Still very much a work in progress, but it's coming together. I'm also finding that quick corrections reduce her reactivity, and after a leash correction I continue with Focus and treating.
These days, our routine is visiting the park and botanical fields in the morning to work on being around dogs at all distances and just for her to become bored with them. Plus it's a very photogenic piece of land. Then training/flirt pole when it's not too hot, and a two-mile run every other evening.
Lastly, we met a little girl today on our run, with her father, and she called Nina "Pup! Pup!" She toddled over, held out her arms, and just like that Nina trotted up and gently nuzzled her for rubs. I mean, before, kids excited her to the point that she herself became a helicopter-dog attempting to sling me into orbit to play. Now she's the dog who lies on the ground as a two-year-old sits and stroke her ears and knows to lick gently. She doesn't even interact with kids often. Okay, pics!
