I was thinking about this and the way the neighbors gave the pup to you, and was wondering if maybe you ought to have them sign something that officially relinquishes their ownership rights to him. I'd hate to have them see what a good dog he becomes and then decide they'll just take him back. I wouldn't want to deal with them to even have them sign something, but it was a thought that popped in to my mind as something they would do since they seem like pretty rotten people.

Easiest way is to take a trip to the vet and get it on record as well as microchip. Also, getting his rabies shot will put him in Pix' name pretty officially. When I took Tallulah, they made sure to register her rabies' in my name so there wouldn't be any question of ownership.

What a cutie! I was thinking the name Bentley but Sawyer is a great name!
Oh and that pink on his nose might go away with good food and no plastic bowls. Not sure what they fed him or in what, but I am sure you would feed him better..
