Dang it! I have a detention on the last day of school!! Which is tommorrow! Gosh, I was only late for school! Stupid vice principal, I had an excuse on the sign-in sheet!! Gosh, I should have said that someone died, and I had to go see them. But I know thats nothing to lie about. But, grrr, I don't think I will like this detention. Not at all. Stupid me, I should have done my homework earlier. :lol-sign: Oh well, I rather sit through 30 min. than 3 hours. If you miss a detention, you get a Monday school, which is 3 hours. Oh well, had to vent. Thank you for reading!

Would it be mean of me to giggle? It would.. So I won't.. :( I am sorry for you, but the irony's pretty good.

At least it's not 16 hours. Yes, sixteen hours. You heard me. :p That's what I had to sit through last year... in an unairconditioned traiiler in the middle of summer with ten other kids. Conditions I wouldn't put an animal through. Just enjoy the fact that you can read a chapter or two from a good book in that amount of time.. I was able to eat up five or so books while I was doing my detention.

Oh, and it wasn't because I'd gotten into trouble.. it was b/c I missed school. Just thought I'd clarify...

oooo that stinks, our teachers really don't get too worked up if your late unless you do it a lot. Look at the bright side, tomorrows the last day of school! LUCKY I don't get out until the 12th (which is early for us). This week is al normal school and next week we have finals and somehow they throw MCAS in their too. I hope it's not too bad for you, bring something amusing to do (if they let you).

I had a Saturday detention for 3 hours when I was in highschool... I skipped a class, and ended up getting caught =/

30 minutes isn't too long to sit and wait... and like Renee said, I'm sure the teachers will be anxious to leave school as well.

I would skip classes when I was in high school some 36 years ago and when one of my teachers gave me detention I skipped out on that too lol. When I went in to the V.P.'s office to answer as to why I didn't do my detention I laughed and said it was the same teacher who's class I skip. We really did not get along lol. I was switched from her class.

I had a teacher that used to let me leave. He said as long as I could pass the tests and do the homework I didnt need to be there. I would show up for like 2 or 3 minutes just to get the assignment and then just walk out. His class was the last class of the day so it was pretty cool.

Enjoy it, it's an opportunity to see 'the other side'. It could be worse, you could have two more weeks, and you could be a teacher like me!

omg, you got a detention for being late!!???? That SUCKS! I woulda been in detention every day. I had over 15 tardies for my 1st hour class in one semester...I technically should have been dropped and given a Zero for the course according to the school rules. How I bypassed that, I STILL do not know!!

I got a detention a few times (like every 5 or so tardies), but since I was Editor of the Yearbook, and our "yearbook guy" doubled as the "detention man", I just went to yearbook after school like I would have done any other day of the week, lol!!
