.. Wow. I'm glad you have your dog back, but I'm absolutely shocked at the vet and those owners that couldn't even tell that it was not their own dog, for days after bringing him home. What a messed-up situation.

Well, I think it's wonderful that you have him back. Just love him and comfort him and lie down with him with your arm around him. Your normal feelings will return. Soak up his companionship right now and give him yours. This confusion will level off for you and your dogs.

i think the owners KNEW, and didnt want to part from their rott. but didnt face reality that it was not THEIr dog they had. maybe thy thought it would take their pain away. i dont understand it, but its possible....

It is definitely possible, just so odd and confusing.

Anyway, I hope everything gets back to normal for you guys, soon.

That's insane! I can see how dogs can get messed up if there are 3 that look the same in at the same time but I can't understand is how someone cannot recognize their own dog. What happened when Magnum had supposedly passed, where did his body go? Did you get your services there paid back to you for the horrible screw up?

Wow...! That is just so bizarre! I can understand how you would feel so weird. I was wondering...did you get to see the other rottie after he died? Or was he PTS? They must have looked a LOT alike.
I'm so happy for you that you have him back and I'm sure he is happy to be back with you. Wonder what made the other folks finally decide to give him back. They had to have known from the start that it wasn't their dog. Do you know why their dog was at the vets to begin with? I'm sorry. I am just so bewildered by your story that I have a lot of questions!

WOW, that is just a crazy story...something needs to be done about that vet...that is just beyond unacceptable. but at least magnum is back!!!

yeah, i bet the owners did know...they were probably in denial about it...didnt want to accept the fact that their doggie was gone :(

So glad to hear Magnum is back. I do agree with everyone that a change in vets is in order. I would never trust that place again. Hugs & kisses to Magnum.

How are things going with the puppy?

I don't understand why you don't know if you're happy or not. If you're not, for Magnum's sake, find him another home...

Ok, what's going on? I just found this thread. What is the deal with getting rid of Magnum after getting him back after he was thought to be dead? What did I miss?

Just to add... if that EVER happened to me at my vet, I'd be scurrying away from that vet practice as soon as possible! My vet has many same breeds in at the same time but KNOW my dog almost as well as I do!
