Here's the deal: there are good ones & bad ones in every aspect of dog ownership & dog sports. There are great/good mushers & there are bad ones. There are great racing greyhound owners/kennels & there are bad ones. (There are great racehorse-Thoroghbred-owners/farms & there are bad ones) There are great Schutzhund trainers & there are bad ones. And most of all, there are great pet owners & there are bad ones. That's just the way it is.

These dogs were bred to work. If people don't like it, then don't own a husky & don't worry yourself with the races. I see that it's just another case of a handful of people doing wrong & now every musher is a horrible piece of **** who beats their dogs & rarely feeds them thus we must end dog sledding. It's total b.s. And it goes hand-in-hand with PETA's way of thinking. Because it just starts there. First you end dog sledding, then you do away with huskies, then you end greyhound racing, then you do away with greyhounds, then you end lure coursing, then you do away with all sighthounds, then you do away with rabbit hunting, then you do away with most hounds (beagles, foxhounds, bassetts, etc) then you do away with Schutzhund, Ringsport & PP, & then you do away with Rottweilers, Doberman Pinschers, GSDs, Belgian Malinois (& all other guardian breeds)........& it continues on until you have nothing left but "pet" owners who dogs do nothing more than exist. And then you have to focus on all those horrible pet owners who abuse & neglect their dogs so then now all pet owners are animal abusers & whanot & POOF............there are no more domesticated dogs & no more dog ownership.

Yup I was actually recently argueing this very point on another board but ended up gtting so fed up with other people's ignorance and naivity that I ended up just leaving the board. I mean, CLEARLY those pictures and videos that I have shown you guys of me training and racing my dogs depict me beating them to death and CLEARLY from seeing any picture of OC you can tell I starve my dogs and CLEARLY from watching the videos of me prepping the sled to start the training run you can tell how abused the dogs are by how they cower and hide *end sarcasm* Yes I will not deny that there are bad apples out there in dogsledding. Its a fact. BUT they shouldnt represent every musher thats out there. Heck most sled dogs recieve more vet attention than the average pet and most sled dogs recieve a better diet too. after all, how can a sickly dog run optimally????

ETA: In all honesty i find it cruel when people never work their dog at all. It may not be a job the breed was intended for but most dogs (even the lil ankle biters) have a strong will to work and thrive is they have a purpose/job.
