several good books say to have your puppy sleep in your bedroom next to you....either in a crate or as the monks do, on a leash teathered to you. A touch, a hush and reasurance is sometimes all they need. Also, they can tell you if they have to potty. These poor babies are used to touchy feely lives. Can you take a soft blanket or something to the place you got him/her and rub it on the puppies or mommy?? This with a hot water bottle helps calm them. Of course it depends on the age.
