This past weekend, I went to my first ferret show in which I had a ferret entered (SHD's Murtagh Ale) I have been looking forward to this for AGES and we had a blast!!!
I drove down Friday after work, stayed the night, to be there in time for vet checks/check in from 8:00-9:30. I only entered in two classes, since its my first time and I was incredibly nervous. The first one was a specialty show (which judges more based on color and care) for Murtagh's color which is Black Roan Mitt (BRM). The second was Late Alter Championship, which is more based on the "whole" ferret, structure, care, color, coat, etc etc and has three rings/judges and all of the ferrets have to be seen by the 3. It started around 5ish and they didn't award the ribbons unitl 9
Murtagh placed 9th in the BRM specialty. He was amazing!! I am sooo excited about next year
Here's a pic of him and the ribbon
So, I don't have many pictures because I was so busy, but I do have some downloading right now
He did not place in the Late Alter class... but there were 50 ferrets in that class I do know the ferret that took second in one of the rings. Squee!!
Anyway... there were TONS of venders, I spent A LOT (lol big surprise there). I got to talk to and Murtagh's breeder for awhile, which is always awesome!! I got to see Murtagh babies.... Pearl-Murtagh2010 ... for anyone who wants to see Also, Murtagh's breeder (Scarlett), her jill took BIS!! VERY COOL to see!! And I'm afraid I'm rambling... so I'll just end it and post LOL
