Everytime I read this, I almost cry. I just wanted to share it with everyone else...

Treat me kindly, my beloved master, for no heart in all the world is more grateful for kindess than the loving heart of me. Do not break my spirit with a stick, for though I should lick your hand between blows, your patients and understanding will more quickly teach me the things you would have me do. Speak to me often, for your voice is the world's sweetest music, as you must know by the fierce wagging of my tail when your footsteps fall upon my ear.
When it is cold and wet, please take me inside, for I am now a domesticated animal, no longer used to bitter elements. And I ask no greater glory that the priviledge of sitting at your feet beside the hearth. Though had you no home, I would rather follow you through ice and snow than rest upon the softest pillow in the warmest home in all the land, for you are my God and I am your worshiper. Keep my pan filled with fresh water, for although I should not reproach you were it dry. I cannot tell when I suffer from thirst, feed me clean food that I may stay well, to romp and play and do you bidding, to walk by your side, and to stand ready, willing and able to protect you with my life should your life be in danger. And, beloved master, should the great Master see fit to deprive me of my health or sight, do not turn me away from you. Rather, hold me gently in your arms as skilled h ands grant me the merciful boon of eternal rest---and I will leave you knowing with the last breath I drew, my fate was ever in your hand.

That is a lesson for everyone to learn, whether it pertains to your dog, your family, your friends, or a stranger you pass on the sidewalk. Never leave without reminding your loved ones that they are just that. Never leave on a harsh word; it could be the last you ever say to that person, two legged or four. Never walk away with an unshared word of encouragement or comfort to one in need. Never walk away without leaving a kind or loving word.

This is my favorite poem, I’m not really into poems but this was I think is really good. It’s not about a dog sorry.

Remember me when I am gone away,
Gone far away into the silent land;
When you can no more hold my hand,
Nor I half turn to go, yet turning stay.
Remember me when no more day to day.
You tell me of our future that you planned:
Only remember me; you understand I will be
late to counsel then or pray. Yet if you should
Forget me for a while and afterwards remember,
Do not grieve; For if the darkness and
corruption leave a restige of the thought
that once I had, Better by far you should
forget and smile then that you should
remember and be sad.
