...weighed in at a whopping 38.5 pounds according to the vet today. But, he was informed that he is very very well endowed by the kind Dr.

Traveler didn't seem to surprised by that but he would like it if they stopped trying to shove a thermometer up his prize possession of a butt thank you very much.

Other than them not being able to get him in a hold that held him to take his temp (he is a Houdini like that and manages to always find a way out even if that way is up. Jes said it trying to nail Jello to a wall when she was here) he got a clean bill of health and I was told he's in phenomenal shape and everything looks amazing and that she's really happy with how lean and fit he is.

PS-They finally got his temp by having him roll over and scratching his belly :rofl1:

For some reason, I thought Traveler was bigger than that! Then again, I'm not good with big dog weights. But that seems like a perfect weight... I want myself a Traveler *sigh* Can I come steal him? :)

Btw, Jackson does the SAME thing about getting his temp taken. He literally crawls up whoever is the closest to him and manages to avoid it for a while. Thank goodness he's only 16lbs, LOL

^ O_O For some reason I thought Upendi was bigger than that! (Like 60lbs or something).

Geeze, I'm a bad judge of size.

Congrats on the compliments, Traveler! Then, of course, we knew you were perfect already. ;)

Wow, Traveler only has 2 pounds on Django. Saga is very butt sensitive too, "No you can't do that, that is MY butt!" She will let her temp be taken, but she is very offended by the whole deal.

That's how Gavroche is too xD

How tall is Traveler? Gavroche is 53, but Traveler seems to be more leggy/finer built than he is.

He looks to me at though he's built a bit like Kim -- light for his height. She's 23 1/4" at the shoulder (official wicket, I'm not just being weird lol) and 47lbs. Has a lot of coat though so her body can look heavier than it is.

Yep, everyone that meets him that has seen his pictures first can't believe how tiny he is or how thin and wiry.

He's just about 22 inches at the shoulder. He actually right around Kaylee's height, but weighs less than half of what she weighs

The vet though seriously ticked me off when she told me dogs are completely physically done growing and filling out at nine months and that he wasn't a puppy anymore at 11 and acted like I was an idiot for calling him a puppy still. And then told me his chest wouldn't drop at all because again he's done filling out and they aren't a deep chested breed....because she totally knew exactly what breed he was and all about them.

I almost then asked her if it was ok to then run a dog into the ground at nine months old since they must be ok with that physically but she then used Thoroughbred racing as an example so I figured she would have missed my point

That's fantastic!

I also though for some reason he was bigger than that, Traveler is Upendi sized.
I thought Upendi was bigger than that too, like what Dixie said around 60ish pounds

:rofl1:

Though to be fair, I can completely understand their disgust with us humans

Wow, he's even weedier than Kim then...that's saying something lol. Looking forward to seeing how he matures :)

Your vet's comments are funny...but considering the source, also rather alarming

I'm looking forward to that too, seeing how he fills out and matures (not that he will because you know, he's already completely an adult)

And yeah, it's pretty scary people go to a vet and get told this. And I went to this clinic because they are supposed to be more holistic and integrated and recommend raw food but her whole thing sure turned me off of that place. The vet I had wanted to see that I saw last time breeds and does sport work with her dogs but she sadly doesn't work there anymroe

Well sure, can't you see the white hairs coming around his nose already? He's practically geriatric! ;)

Once three people came in to hold down Mary and I felt my jaw hit the ground. When she had her eye surgery and I was not there apparently that was how many it took for a 14 yr old girl. sheesh. Mary had no use for being pinned. Ask her, talk to her, and she will gentle and do whatever you need done. Poor Traveler, that only makes it more scary. Glad they came up with a non fear raising method. They need to do that approach first next time.

I think you've seen a good indication why  I'd be finding out where that vet went!
