i appreciate the supposrt but can we please not start a fight :) she obviously wont be back and i hope it stays that way.
LMAO. No offense, but I'm supposed to be scared of you?

Just curious, what have YOU done to improve on your breed?
As far as this goes, the MAIN thing I have done is NOT peddle puppies to any Joe Schmoe.

As far as breeding for solely hunting ability goes, it's not good enough. Hell, I've got a dog that's cowhocked & has a severe underbite & he's one of the best catch dogs I've ever put my hands one.......but he's not breeding material. And also, hunting is not something that exclusive to the APBT. In fact, Catahoula Leapord Dogs, Mountain Curs, Black Mouth Curs, & American Bulldogs (& even Catahoula Bulldogs) make MUCH better catch dogs overall.

There's much more to the APBT than that.

But hey, I'm just an idiot since I don't support byb or peddling all for the sake of getting 1 pup out of the deal. If that byb & puppy peddling is an accepted practice here, then maybe I won't come back. I refuse to have my name associated with those who think breeding dogs solely to sell them is ok. It's called get a J-O-B.

Have a good one.

It's a shame you're not spending the time to look around, because you are so anti-BYB I would imagine you actually really would have fit in here - it's the predominant attitude. Certainly there have been enough threads of it, if you browse a bit before commenting. It's actually making you look silly, because if you only knew, 99.9% of the people on this board share your views, we're all just a bit politer and make sure we know what's going on before we open our mouths.

You know what's funny? If darkchild16 was not a regular here, and made this same post as a new poster, people would be all over her for even thinking about breeding these 2 dogs. I bet there are plenty of people who would normally be all over this thread who are keeping mum so they don't offend a regular.

I agree - before I even opened this thread I was wincing for what I was expecting people to post - so, yes, I hardly think we are for BYBs here

Couldn't agree with you more ~ yet another instance of the clique-e-ness that is rife on this forum.

I am far from being in any "clique" associated with this forum, if there is one. ;)

My comment was directed to Miakoda. I find it very funny that she can preach about BYBing when she doesn't even health test her breeding stock. Pot meet kettle?

That's awesome. Health testing is such an important tool when it comes to breeding.

I am sure also, since you have been a member for so long that you know what it takes to be a responsible breeder. Which is why everyone didn't jump you like a newbie. :)

i know breeding backwards and forwards. form cows, dogs, horses, and goats LOL. I used to live on a cattle ranch and have been helping and breeding horses since i knew the difference between a mare and a stallion LOL.

testing to me is the MOST important thing.

HEAR HEAR!

i absolutely agree with this post.
and miakoda may have been rude, but shes right.

this is a regular poster, so she gets special treatment?

im sorry, but its ridiculous. this breeding is doing nothing for the breed. ask elegy for her stats on how many pits are being bred each and every year.

ask your local shelter how many they euthanize each year.

dober i said hes geting tested more toward april ;) and if he doesnt pass he will not be bred. and they may be in sheltars but they arent hunting dogs and may not be as drivey as a huntiong dog needs and they are not for pets and will not end up in the sheltar but finding ones that can run in a pack and hunt is hard to do. but i dont have to explain myself to you. show people tend to not relize the hunting world is a whoole lot different.

Sorry Darkchild, can't say I'm going to back you up on this breeding.
Best of luck whatever you decide.
