I don't know what to say I am just so upset now. I feel like Mary is my dog she was just so special. I always loved looking at pictures of her so happy and regal. I am just crying my eyes out for you and your family. I know she is in heaven now and I hope I get to meet her one day. Rest in peace sweet Mary.

I've just now been able to get on for the first time today. I think that there could be no better end than eating one's fill of their favorite treat, surrounded by the people who loved them best in their life.

Have fun at the Bridge, Mary Margarita.

I've been away for a few days so I missed this.
She couldn't have possibly had any better journey or someone more understanding to take her on it.

Hugs to you, Smkie.
Run free Mary, go find Martha, guarenteee she'll be up for a game.

I'm in shock. I didn't see this all weekend. I was sniffling reading the thread, but when I read your post after she had moved on I'm just bawling.

I never met her, I've only read your posts here about her, but somehow Mary is an intristic part of Chaz, and she'll always be a part of the people she's touched. Which, I'm sure, number in the hundreds, if not by the thousand :).

This is all I could think of when I first read the first post.

Hail Mary, full of grace.
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou amongst women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

That and the Beatles song that was already posted. Mother Mary was a grand old dog, and she's probably had one of the best lives a dog could possibly have here on earth. I don't know what could possibly be said to ease your suffering, but I'm sending all the hugs I've got.

I'm so glad to see this as a sticky. All of us who know smkie both in public forum and private conversions and have read about Mary feel privileged to know them both.

Smkie is a model chazhounder IMO and Mary was a model chaz dog and they both should be recognized as such. We need more smkies and Mary's on this forum and it's good to see them at the top where they truly belong.

OH GOd no it will never ever be the same.

Mom said making the decision is the hard part. All of it is hard. I dreaded this morning. THat's when Mary wagging goes out the door and we walk to the car to warm it up (or see if the keys are in it) whatever..to get ready to go. IT's when i think "we get our one more day" and that always makes me smile. THen while i warm it she goes on about her business and we get Hyia out of the house. THen she takes Hyia to school. 2 generations of gradeschool...sighs. SO i open the door and there is no Mary. Pepper always ALWAYS darts out the door runs as fast as she can to the far corner of the property, then across the back to the other end and then races up to a skid by the car. THis morning. SHe stepped out and walked by my side to the car. I opened the door and she jumped in. I started it and told her to get out. SHe walked back by my side and went straight in without a look back. HOw did she know?

THe next time i opened the door and told her she could go it was back to normal. SHe treed a squirrel and i had to get her hushed up. When she trees one in the lilac bush she knows she can bark until it makes a run for it, and she knows the house and the other tree are too far. SHe has killed more than one there. Mary nosed the baby squirrels with the saddest look on her face. Mary didnt' chase squirrels. Mary didn't chase anything. SHe just loved water. I think more than anything. Her tub, the tub outside, the hose, the lake, the creeks.

MOm is looking through her photo albums today and she says Mary is everywhere, in most of them. Yeah I know. SHe was always where the children were.

Smkie, I'm sorry to read of Marys passing. I started reading the thread when you first posted it but I had to stop(still didn't get through the whole thread). I will admit I am a chicken when it comes to reading these kinds of threads. (Hugs to You and Hyia).
