Every dog has her own personality, and Maggie may just not be into playing much. But I love Gonz's great ideas for training a dog to play. I need to try that with mine.
My Husky mix used to like tug-of-war when she was younger, and "chase me" with a tennis ball. My Lab mix was a rescue dog, and doesn't seem to know what to do with a toy. (She ate the one that my pet sitter thought I should try for her.) They're both happy dogs, so I don't worry about it. It's just who they are.
