Luna's first puppy class

Oh I suggested she ask. I said just don't be surprised if she said no. And other people suggested she at least try what the teacher is suggesting before trying to change it up.

I personally wouldn't go to a class with a puppy if I was going to be asked to do things I don't want to do. But then again having taught enough classes I respect people (even those I don't agree with) too much to do that to their class.

Ok good, as long as the hypocrisy is understood. I just thought from some of the comments that they made it sound like wasn't a matter or method and I didn't and don't buy that.

I don't see the hypocrisy. If someone told me they were taking a class from a trainer who did not believe in food training and that they were going to sneak in treats anyway I would tell them the same thing - that its disrespectful to the instructor of the class to go against their entire training philosophy.

The fact that the OP is correcting a fearful PUPPY is not a "methods" matter IMO at all. I know too many traditional trainers who are happy to use corrections when needed who will tell you that correcting a fearful dog (let along puppy) is a really bad idea.

I know this is a REALLY old thread, but I was wondering how agility with Luna is going now that she's older, and reportedly doing better around other dogs? I thought about agility with Ozzy, he'd probably be really good at it, but he's too reactive to other dogs.
