Now it's not 100% sure that I will be buying a dog, but there is still a possibility. I was finding some interest in Doberman Pinscher so I did a little research on them. They are a fairly large dog that needs a decent amount of exercise. (I know theres more than that. Thats just what I like about the dog.) I go running, and if I bring the dog with me will that be a large part of tis exercise throughout the day?.Is there any important thing I should know about the dog? Are the puppy prices expensive? This breed looks the most appealing to me and if I convince other household members, I can buy a dog.

Prices vary but please do your research and either rescue from a shelter or go through a very reputable breeder. They are hard to find but they'll save you a lot of heartache.

Running is good but your dog will need some free play and other activities that stimulate his mind.

Be sure to go through a reputable breeder, or go to a breed rescue and get an adult with a steady, proven temperament. Badly-bred dogs can have major health problems and unstable temperaments, and that can create worlds of trouble with a working dog like a doberman.

If you own your house, check with your home insurance company. Many companies charge extra for "high liability" dogs like dobermans, rotts, german shepherds, pit bulls, etc.

Be prepared to do obedience training. It's an absolute must with a dog of that size. Socialization is also very important.
