This is the puppy I'm getting tomorrow

The rescue says it's a lab/bluetick coonhound mix... Does that seem plausible to you? I just can't see how those two short hair breeds would give a puppy with a fur like this. I don't really care about what breeds he is from, I was just interested in doing some research about those breeds to have an idea of what to expect. Even though it's extremely hard to find info on bluetick coonhounds.

There was a bluetick coonhound mix at the shelter they got him from though, so I guess he was probably his brother... Maybe a golden mix then?

Lab and Border Collie is my guess. There is a good chance it could be a mix of a few different breeds. I don't know about where you live, but around here the shelters can't tell a breed to save their life...they call everything a lab cross LOL :D

Good luck with your new baby...and get your sleep now!!!!

Still no idea for the name :( Maybe seeing him will help.

Oh, any idea of what length of hair I should expect? He was 7 weeks on the picture I think.

Where in the world would they think bluetick coonhound? His ears are very short and high set. I'd lean toward the border collie, too. He's CUTE! Or as I've heard, he's 1/2 lab and 1/2 whatever you want him to be! Or, he's 1/2 lab and whatever jumped over the fence! :D

Yes he seems to have a big head, but it might be because the pic was taken from above too. Boris seemed to have a big head at some point too, now it seems small :D

They said bluetick coonhound because they got a puppy from the same place at the same time, around the same age, and that definitely looks like one, mixed with lab. I don't think they are brothers but who knows...

It's all good though, it's going to be fun to discover his character :D

Oh, forgot to mention, the other one they have, that is obviously his sister, has the border collie face much more than him. So I guess border collie/lab could make sense.

He's adorable. I don't see coonhound either. I thought when looking at his face, ears, color on his paws, Border Collie or Aussie and something else. Who knows. I bet he'll fill all your dreams. Congratulations! He is a really sweet looking dog. Yeah....whatcha gonna name him?
