It's officially been a week since I brought the kitties home!
Before you start asking, I did take pictures this morning... and for some reason my computer's rejecting my xD card. I'm still working on it.
They went to the vet on Wednesday and all checked out fine.:thumbsupsmileyanim: They gave me some dewormer, and eye drops for conjunctivitis which seems to have cleared up already.
Their litter box training is going well, they graduated from a cookie sheet to a *real* litter box yesterday.
I got the shortest one I could get and they still have a little trouble clambering into it, but they're managing well and have hardly had any accidents in the last few days. So today they also graduated from living in the closet to living in the whole bathroom! They also learned how to climb up the baby gate, so keeping them in there has been a little challenge, but so far no one's escaped. Of course they each get to come out for cuddle time every day.
They also had their last meal with formula yesterday, moved on to straight canned kitten food now. I think I'll also cut down from 4 meals a day to 3 meals, they haven't been eating much on a couple of meals so I think they'll be fine. I guess next week I'll start introducing dry food and see how they handle that.
They've each had a successful bath.
How often do you think I could bathe them? The shampoo is very gentle and their skin and coats seem to be in good condition. I was thinking once or twice a week, is that too much? Mostly because they're still quite messy with their meals, and I do want to get them used to baths while they're still young.
I have clipped 8 nails so far.
They're getting sharper every day so it's my priority for this weekend to get them all clipped. I gave them a scratcher today and kind of put them on it but they didn't seem at all interested.... maybe they're not really ready for that yet.
My cat seems to be accepting them a little better every day. She's still doing a lot of growling but I'm confident she wouldn't hurt them. Of course I'm not letting them annoy her, either.
Luna pretends like they don't exist.
I guess that's about all. I'm going to the store to buy them some toys tomorrow; I have a few toys but my cat has never been interested so I don't have many. I think I'm going to put an ad up on petfinder next week to try to find them homes. I want to keep them until they're about 8 weeks old, but I also want to get them spayed/neutered and microchipped before they go to their new homes (I don't trust people with cats!). Do you think 8 weeks is too young to spay/neuter?
