Agreed.
I think commenting on what lovely dogs they are and then, as an aside, mentioning something along the lines of "Are the owners aware that their collars aren't fit quite right, blah blah blah" would have been a more tactful approach.

Totally agree. When I was a new member, I used to be amazed at what slid by chaz members. Then I realized that those things weren't commented on because it was something like this, the OP was knowledgeable, everyone knew it and there was no point in commenting on it. On some of the less educated forums that I've been on, yes everyone would have pointed that out to make sure the poster was educated.
